me again ... appears to my friend to be (02) 8209 4700 is an antiquated if you like gateway - he says that when the system overloads with too many callers (not giconnect, the gateway any vioce on data ie skype, giconnect, voip etc can be allocated) then glitches - when stressed (1) people already on calls can suddenly find themselves talking to a new connection (ii) multiple connections occur as when a free line is sought and it's busy callers (switches) from usually different parts of the world will go for the free line simultaneously and due to switching latency and a busy network two to several may be allocated the same line ... then stepping can get out of synch and (iii) a queued  string of callers may all be allocated the previous or following callers destination - so seems to be an old gateway that suffers under a load it was not designed for and trying to interface with too many networks that are very fast - this it what it appears to be -----

i was in australia the last 3 weeks and got 3 calls of the above number, always in the morning hours between 2 and 5 a.m. me and my phone are from austria !?! how did those bastards get my number in oz?

I received a call from this number and when i called it back there was a recorded message that said all lines to this area are down and to call back later

I am in Brisbane, QLD. Have got 5 calls from this number - but no one in the other end... I will block the number from my phone now!! That'll teach them! :-/

Just got 2 calls from this on my optus mobile. One rang up the instant I picked up, the next was just silent but it did sound like someone initially trying to talk. Afterwards I even received a standard 'missed call' sms as well.
