automated message from "Australian Tax Office", called the ATO & definitely not them!

I called back number (02) 8103 7470 rang 4 times then goes to busy tone.

had a couple of calls from this number, as above comments. also give a number for your lawyer to phone (02) 9008 4481

Scam, have contacted ATO they are in the process of blocking the number in Australia. They said the call was being made outside of AU and to a bunch of random numbers. ATO advised they would never call you and play a pre-recorded message.

This is the cold recorded call from a scammer claiming you own money to the ATO(tax). Don't call back or to the number they give you.

Recorded message claims I have overdue taxes.
As I write this, another call, this time from a private number repeats the message. Generic messages aimed at whoever picks up the phone.

I had 3 phone calls from this number saying they're from the ATO, and there was a warrant for my arrest and accounts had been frozen etc. Totally bogus!!

constantly calling for a week, scam demanding money or we will be arrested. worrisome is they have our phone account details? ID fraud?

Avoid

I got this scary voice message from them that I didn't complete my tax return properly and that they have a warrant for my arrest! Called the actual tax office and they said it wasn't one of their numbers. Always double check!!

Scammers pretending to be from the ATO.

Automated message, quite threatening. Stating I'm being investigated for tax evasion and a warrant is going to be issued for my arrest. Yeah nah.

New scam. Just got an automated message form this number left on my phone twice, second time as anonymous... (wonder why) saying I lodged an incorrect account or new tax filing and they regret to inform me that my account has been made delinquent on the ground of tax avoidance. Said letter were returned unsigned and undelivered, so they will proceed with a petition for a warrant for my arrest. To call or get my lawyer to call another number (02) 8317 3285 or hotline??, before they proceed. As many people do find a way to avoid some taxes, they think they can just target anyone who could then get sucked in their scam, whatever it is. How I know it is a scam? Simple. I haven't put my tax return yet. Haha, bunch of idiots.

Have rung my mobile twice and left an automated message saying that you are in trouble for tax avoidance and to ring the number given or get your lawyer to. Sounds like a scam without a doubt. Will be blocking their number.
