Someone called and left a message saying I was wanted for Tax avoidance and there is a warrant out for my arrest. Said if I want to settle this claim, press 2 or dial (02) 8091 7901 to resolve. Knew it was a scam! Thanks to all who have lodged their experience.

Caller: Robot Male Voice - fast paced

message bank recorded part message - this number repeated twice requesting I call back as Tax Office Papers had been posted to registered address and an arrest warrant had been raised for me. Press 1 or call back.
Yep.... can see how this would scare most people - Obvious Scam

I had the same experience, except it came from number (02) 8007 3935.

The call came in shown phone number (02) 8007 5688 but I couldn't take the call at the time. Then it went to the message bank. I checked the voice mail and the robotic voice said "The warrant for your arrest has been issued if you want to cancel to call back on (02) 8091 7901". I am pretty sure it's a scam so I checked on the internet to see if there is any complaint about this number. And there you go!!

01/07/20 - voicemail received saying something along the line that an warrant has been issued for my arrest, if i want to stop it i must dial press 1 or dial (02) 8091 7901'. Have reported to ACCC Scamwatch

Scam about arrest warrant. Computer generated voice, which was off pace to a normal person talking, hard to understand. asked to call back this number to release the arrest warrant

received call at 11:40 am on 26 June 2020. Robotic/computer generated voice claiming to be the ATO and that I had not returned tax documents that were sent to me, that I had a tax debt and an arrest warrant has been issued, but... if I pressed 1, I could pay the debt over the phone...

I called this number after receiving a voice message telling me there was an arrest warrant out for me for Tax Fraud. A guy who could not speak english answered and asked for personal details I told him I knew it was a scam and told to $%^* off!

Papers have been issued for my arrest due to tax non payment. SCAM.

Claimed they were from the Australian Taxation Office and I was going to be arrested due to faulty tax return.
It was very frightened and am shaken up.
I questioned them are they really from Tax Office and they hung up on me.

Threats from the ATO about last warnings and warrants for arrest, asking to press numbers on phone to take further action.

Tax scam call, stating an arrest warrant is assigned to you, the recipient of this call. Left a message to call the number back to address the arrest warrant.

Rang me for one second then hung up. Probably a scam.

I declined the call and it went to my messagebank. The message left was a recorded message that said there was a warrant for my arrest and to dial 1 or call a number. Block this number.
