exactly same as what happened to me these days...
I have been recieving these unknown calls all the time it pisses me off so instead of trying to complain I just make up One big bullsh*ted story to make them sh*t them self very fun, try it
I got two calls from the number, it rang a few times then cut off automatically. Looks like I won't be answering the number.
I am currently on the phone to Optus trying to report this number. I have been called several times over the past few days, often with the phone only ringing twice before hanging up. I have told the call centre that people who are not with Optus are receiving repeated calls from this number and that the callers are hanging up when pressed for details, but they are insisting it really IS Optus and that I should just answer it. I'm demanding to speak to somebody higher up the chain of command who can actually take my complaint seriously, but am being put endlessly on hold by the operator (who clearly does not think this is an issue.) She says she's taken me off the marketing calls list, which is something I suppose, although as I said to her I actually DO want to receive texts about bonus point offers etc, just not these repeated, dodgy phone calls! I'm sure they're hoping I will hang up so they don't have to deal with this. I've now said I will be contacting the Telecommunication Ombudsman since they are unwilling to deal with my complaint and she has suddenly offered to find somebody else for me to talk to.
They ring every day but they only let it ring a couple times and i never get to answer. VERY ANNOYING
Calling 3-4 times a week for the past 2 weeks. dont leave a message and never rings for long, maybe 3-4 rings
Always ringing at inappropriate times. Obviously don't
Know about time differences
Spoke to him today, I was selected from loayal bunch or prepaid customers for new phone, cost nothing to get more credits "just $19 per mth". I said if I can't get this deal at an Optus Shop in person then forget it. After receiving other types of phone scams I don't buy/commit to anything over the phone anymore, if it's such a great deal of benefit to ME then I can go enquire about it in person in my own free time.
this number from someone who IS TRYING TO TAKE YOUR MONEY. Hang up, dont answer it.
I have been getting numerous calls from this number and when I answer they hang up straight away... It is becoming very annoying....
Received two calls from this number, both missed. Just called it from my work phone, and get an automated message saying it's Optus calling to check on how I'm enjoying my service... but I'm with Virgin, so wtf.
Keep on ignoring this call, folks.
Wanker called at 7.31 p.m. did not answer and glad to have checked number first, just block them.
Glad I looked up this number now although I don't normally answer numbers I don't know I was going to ring them back how do we block numbers?
I have calls from this number for almost 6 months now i reckon. i never answer numbers i dont know and figure they will leave a message if its important. they never leave a message. over it they call at inapprorite times. maybe they get our numbers from competitions or personal details we leave on the internet? not sure but wish they would stop. will block number if have to and report it to optus

they have been ringing me everyday for the past two weeks...not just once but twice is not three times a day...it is really annoying as i dont know who they are...they dont even leave a voice message, i dont ring numbers i dont know unless they leave a message
They are calling me at home and at my office. Some of the times, I have spoken to them, but it is always to a different person, male and female with perfect Aussie accent. They seem to know my Qantas FF no. They always ask for special deals from Optus, Woolworths and Qantas. I can talk to them only when I pick up on their call. I can not get them if I call.
They seem to try and find out when we are at home and out of home, calling morning, afternoon and early evening.
Our house was burgled recently, do not know if there is any link.
this number is calling me every day. It doesn't even ring, just shows up as a missed call.
How on earth can you get rid of these annoying things?
How silly the iPhone doesn't have an 'auto reject' feature. Even my basic Uniden home phone can do it.
Just got pranked from (02) 8087 3088.
They said nothing when I answered, I waited for a sec and then hung up. Nice waste of my time.
I received a phone call from (02) 8087 3088 at 6.00pm EST on 27/02/2012 from a reported Optus sales person stating my phone card was due to expriry as I had not re charged it for close to a year (true) and Optus to try and retain my business was offering a free $30.00 re charge, however, I had to do a security check first. When I advised I would not do a security check off the back of a cold call, I asked if I could call the Optus Customer service number, the guy with an American accent (maybe Phillipino with an American accent) gave me 1300 555 002. I just called the Optus Customer service number and they advised of no such promotion and did not recongnise the number quoted above.
The scary thing is the guy new my name, phone number, previous address and that my phone card was due to expire. I wonder how he could have got all this info?
