Called 6 times in the last 2 months, each time saying they were from Vodafone, each time giving me a bogus number to call back (since I was "busy and would call them back later"... yeah right), told them I was recording the call, they said "so are they". Is this something the police can track? The TIO doesn't have any teeth, and the ACCC hasn't done anything about my last 2 reports.. nor has Vodafone.

They are testing to see if a real person answers the call.

I agree. I keep receiving calls from this number and after I have said "hello" a female voice says "good-bye" and hangs up. I then try to return the call, but it doesn't ring. I think it's a fraud and potentially being initiated overseas and routed through a server in Sydney so we think the call is from Australia, but I doubt that very much. Can someone in the government shut down this number?

Have checked this number with Vodafone and it is not an authorized number.

First call on 08/03/17 stated they had a special offer from Vodafone - I said no thanks and hung up, had 11 calls in the last 14 days, all going to my reject list! Someone needs to stop this, what about the ombudsman?

Had a call and no-one was on the line. A digital voice then said "Goodbye". Do doubt a computer checking if my mobile number is valid ie: in preparation for scams and spam.

The first call I answered, couple of seconds of silence and then 'goodbye', I have been receiving calls nearly every day from this number since - which I've ignored.
Yes, I was already registered on the 'do not call' service.

About four calls from this number. All were an automated voice that after a few seconds of silence says goodbye and then hangs up.

I've also been getting calls. Usually they don't even answer and just hang up. Always an "indian" sounding accent but obviously I could be wrong. Today they called again and I quickly answered as I was curious to see who keeps calling and straight away I asked why I'm getting these calls every day. He said some crap and then just hung up. Seriously, what kind of sh#t human takes this job?
