Caller: Canvasser for NSW RFSA Authentic fundraising for RFS volunteers but I'm sick of them constantly asking for money.

Once again rang and hung up when the answer phone came on. We have asked them to take us of their list many times. They always assure us that they will but clearly don't follow through.

Caller: RFS Seeking donations. Not on considering the money it pocketed in a somewhat dubious manner from another fundraiser during the major fires. Not another cent from me. I’ve asked to remove me from It’s data base - no action.

Calls almost daily and never leaves a message. Probably RFS as others have suggested as I’ve supported them in the past.

Caller: NSW RFS They keep calling and asking for my mother by her first name only, like they know her personally. The problem is that she died over 5 years ago. I have repeatedly asked to be removed from their list and they keep assuring me they will, but still I get calls. I have even reported them to the NSW Premier's Office but got no reply. They are dogs who don't deserve to get anything. A disgusting representation for a group of people who do great things on the ground, but their admin is a sham.

Caller: RFS I have been asked to put on DNC many times but they are a charity so it doesn't apply. They call literally every single business day. I have them blocked.

You have to call the NSW Rural Fire Service Association directly and ask them to place you on their internal 'Do Not Call ' register. It's the only way to make it stop, unfortunately. Because they are a not for profit organisation, they do not have to follow the Australian Do Not Call Register. Found this out the hard way myself because I was sick of a dozen calls per day.

Caller: NSW Fire Brigade Fundraising Continually calls, sometimes hangs up, sometimes speak asking for donations. They are not happy to take 'no' for an answer. At the moment I am fencing at least 7 calls per day, with a majority hanging up. I understand many of our numbers are called at a random ' raffle' process, this is a machine that makes the call. If it recognises that it has called us before it will hang up, it is not a person hanging up. Like most callers of this type, they are outsourced to a canvassing company and not made directly by NSW RFSA. Because they are a not-for-profit organisation, they are exempt from the 'Do Not Call Register'. If you want your number listed with them as a do not call you to have to call NSW Rural Fire Service Association and ask to be added to their do not call register directly.

Have been getting calls every day so annoying. I refuse to give money to people who take half the funding and go on expensive holidays and gifts for themselves. NO WAY.

Hung up when I answered Given the budget the taxpayer forks out for a second fire department, surely the volunteers are being looked after . Why the need for their association to be annoying people on a weekend.

I have lost count of the number of times I have asked these people to stop calling us. Every time they promise to take us off the list and clearly never do.
