The calls started again 16th Apr.and I have received 2 each day since. After 2 rings it stops. St George & Westpac & 'Authorities' should do something about these. It is annoying.

It's "Sykes"? australia. I was called in relation to "Westpac". I'm also part of the do not call register, so am lodging a formal complaint.

don't answer unknown numbers, but this one was coming up daily for weeks. Haven't used old phone for 6 months, turned it back on yesterday to get a number and the bloody number is still calling me. Start of these calls coincided with me giving my number to one of those charity peeps with the clip boards that seem to be on every city corner these days, just to shut them the hell up at the time.

I rang the number back (31/1//12) and an IVR said it was "Sykes Australia calling on behalf of Westpac Financial Services with special offers for you"....

Surely this can be reported to Telstra or Optus or whoever your phone company is - as a nuisance call.

Just got a call, but it hung up after 3 rings. I called back anyway and got a voicemail saying that they are "Sykes calling with a promotion on behalf of Westpac, and will call me back later". I don't even bank with Westpac!!!! F**k off!

The way places get silent numbers and why you can still receive calls even if you have registered on the Do Not Call register is mainly for one of the following 2 reasons: 1) The Do Not Call register does not work on marketing from companies you currently have products or services with, or their third party representatives. Within the legislation is the clause that allows them to pass this information along unless you have ticked the box and said I do not want to be contacted by associated third parties. Easy enough to do, just contact the companies you have products and services with and request to be taken off marketing lists. Takes up to about 6 weeks for the information to filter through but then you should be good. And of course for any new products you get make sure you tick the box. 2) The Do Not Call register only keeps your details for 6-12 months, so you need to keep renewing your registration. I have it in my phone calendar, every 6 months I go on and re-register and I haven't gotten calls from anyone in a long time.
Hope this helps everyone.

Hi, if you go to their website it directs you to email them. You need to email the following address and include the phone number you would like removed. sykesAUSfinancialservices @ sykes.com I also recommend joining the do-not-call register.

I've been receiving calls from them and they claim to be from MLC life insurance. My bank sent me some info about it the other day and then I was called. Hubby experienced the same and we just told them we're not interested. If you don't answer the call they will just keep calling, usually around lunchtime.
