Caller: Telstra Billing Department

Telstra Billing Department congratulating me on being selected for a 50% off promotion, then tried to harvest my personal details, I gave false information to see how far it went and apparently all the information I provided was correct on his system :-P

SCAM Caller

Caller: A man with an Indian sounding accent

Claimed he was from Telstra. Offered me 60% reduction for my Telstra bill for 6 months. Asked me was I the account holder for the number called. I stated I thought this was a scam and he hung up.

Provided as contact number for a Scam Trend Micro Antivirus renewal and invoice with an outstanding payment.

Caller: Suggested Telstra but was not!

scam caller phishing for personal information such as billing address. Failed to identify themselves and was after hours which made me stop. Knew my email and name. As the thread highlights it couldn’t have been legit as it poses for multiple telcos :-)

Same same 50 % off for having good credit with Optus , then generated some text message for Optus to verify me etc call dropped out won’t be ringing them back tks SCAM

Answered call no one there. Then phone rang another 3 times didn't answer and no messages left. Nuance/scam calls?

Caller: I don't know

Indian accent. Claimed he was from "telstra billing" offering a 40% discount.
Wouldn't answer my questions and continued with his script regardless of what i said.

A lady with a Indian accent telling me she was from Optus and for being a loyal customer she was giving me 50% discount for the next 6 months. BEWARE this is a SCAM

He asked me to verify my account, as soon as I asked him to verify who he was by telling me the address the my Telstra account is sent to, he hung up on me.

He asked me amount paid for my last bill and other info. I asked him to confirm the postal address my bill is sent to and he hung up.

recorded as a missed call and when i rang back, it rang however no one answered

Scammer no doubt.

They hung up as soon as I answered…probably spam

A man with an Indian accent called claiming to be from Optus and offering me a 50% discount. I picked it up to be a scam and hung up immediately.
He called back within seconds apologising for the line being cut, yet the call this time was coming from a UK number (+44 20 3190 8789). I told him that I hung up because this sounds like a scam and me being called back on an overseas number confirmed it.

Called today about insurance which I didn't have

Said they were from Optus and had a 50% off for us. We don't use Optus so could have been a spam call.
