I had a similar story to above, telling me banks had overcharged me $3647, good news Money Saving Experts from the Australian Government were about to refund me this amount. I also phoned Paul Johnson on (02) 8005 6469 but no answer. Seems like a big waste of time.

This Indian guy has been busy?  I got a call from "Alex" who said he was from some government department and that he had $3000 (can't remember exact amount) to return to me in overcharged bank fees.  He asked a lot of questions and I answered some of them, then started to ask some questions.  He then became abusive and told me to shut up and listen!!  He said I should phone Paul Johnson on 02.80056469 to confirm that he is from Money Saving Experts and Paul would explain the process of getting these monies back.  I phoned this number and 'Paul" said he was busy and would phone me back, asked for my number?  I told him I had already provided it?  Shortly after this "Alex" phoned me back on my mobile (I was on the home phone at the time).  He asked me why i didn't answer the home phone - I told him I was on the phone to the police reporting his scam.  "Alex" then became abusive and threatened to come to my house and 'fu**" me.  I asked him what time he would be coming and said I would have a party ready for him.  He told me he would be here at 10pm and became more abusive, I hung up.  "Alex" phoned me back several more times, leaving a message on my phone (when I didn't answer) that was full of **** and further threats.  I have now reported this scam, together with threats to harm me to the Police and Consumer Affairs.  "Alex" if your reading this, your anger is getting in the way of your scamming abilities - give it up.
