Caller type: Scam call
Location: Australia
Caller: John Mendis & Lauren Bennett

There are two callers who are supposed representatives of Security organization for Mastercard, Visa etc. Their request is to assist in trapping a said Interstate Scammer.
The two callers even supply Employment No's to verify their identity, which are obviously false. They request a person's [target] help to supply through their Bank a sum of money to be used to trap the scammer using a supposed special account that is provided by a special Government body, for such a purpose. This money could be drawn from the "Targets" account to create the "sting" to catch the scammer. However, there is no such Government account, any moneys that the unfortunate target draws from their account and hands it over is completely lost. The Bank cannot reimburse such an action. Be very wary.

Caller: Alleged "David Brown" from Air Hawk Australia

Scammer
called me today 23 SEP 22 claiming to be from Air Hawk Australia (which I made purchase back in July from them). The connection was shocking, sounded overseas. Accent of this person was Hindi of sorts. Said there was a second order in they system in my name to a different address but hasn't been shipped and then asked if I could log in to my bank and check transactions to see if duplicate payment had been made. When i asked the for the phone number he said you should be able to see it on your screen (which I could) but i said I couldn't & asked him to repeat it, which he didn't. I said I would check my bank AFTER I hung up and that I would call back to confirm if one or 2 payments were made. When I tried calling back it rang out several times, with once saying the mobile you are calling is unavailable, another just ringing endlessly, and once rang until an engaged signal was heard.
This was NOT a call from Air Hawk Aust. this was a scammer trying to have me logging in to the bank while he was on the phone to me.

this number is also being used to obtain appointments for solar panels ....supposedly for a company called Solar Victoria.

when pressed they provide this number and a contact as Shane ..........

despite being on the do not call register these people call most evenings . Gave Telstra the option ....stop these **** holes or cut the phone off .....

land lines are becoming a thing of the past especially with all these overseas marketers .........Telstra have the ability to track these calls but but you have to wonder if they really want to stop this type of issue. After all it does add to their income

aah the joys of technology

Just got call from here, tried to scam my husband, when he said he needed to speak to his wife (me as it's my pc) the indian man 'max' said 'but Mr. your the man you should make these decisions!! He then phoned back and I answered the phone when I said I have been having IE /Windows 7 problems but I've resolved it myself using the MO website he said it was a mandatory upgrade and that we had to pay them!! I said I wanted proof in writing of details where they are, details etc etc, he said he wasn't asking for any of my personal details and that we must pay them for upgrade and asking me if I have children and if I was married! I promtly told him this has nothing to do with my computer programs and asked to speak to his supervisor. The phone cut out and they called back a third time!!! This time it was a man with a very fake american accent-needless to say I gave it to them!!! BEWARE THIS IS A SCAM

We received a phone call from Chester from Map Tech Design, regarding a  Google Listing. I had been in contact with Yellow Pages for my business and wasn't sure if it had to do with that. We took their number, googled Map Tech Design in NSW, were unsuccessful and as a last attempt googled this phone number that he gave us to ring him back on. 02- 80056133.
Naturally, after reading all these comments, I'm not ringing back, and I'll notify my Yellow Pages contact person as well.
