Just listened to my messages from last 2 days, 5 missed calls from this number with no message. grrr. - PeterOctober 1, 2012UnknownAustralia
One way to deal with them. After the third phone call give them a warning. Tell them next time they call you'll blow a whistle down the line. I have actually used the whistle and it has been pretty successful - JohnAugust 21, 2012UnknownAustralia
Keep ringing the sh!theads back and ask em if they have a virus in there computer, the sh!theads will soon get the message. - annoyedaussieAugust 14, 2012TelemarketerAustralia
Just fell for this same scam. Caller stated my hardware was about to crash and my computer would be useless if virus was not located and eliminated immediately. I asked all above (company name, phone number and name/employee id) Then rang the given number 02 800 50464 which was answered as "Microsoft Technical Support". They then went through the Event viewer and asked how many 'errors' there were (21,000!)and stated that is why they would have received the warnings. Instructed me to press windows key and r simultaneously and then continued to give me codes to 'locate the virus'. I became increasingly uncomfortable at not knowing what I was really doing and asked if they could ring back in an hour. Have since searched and now am worried WHAT I have done! I am also on the Do Not Call register. Unsure HOW they then got my number?! - Kathy SAugust 3, 2012UnknownAustralia
Received a call from "Justin Bradshaw" with an indian? accent. Also got this number to call, but knew it was a SCAM. We are also on the Do not call register but still get these dropkicks. Am waiting for them to call back to let them now what I think of them, but they probably won't. - JJuly 11, 2012Prank CallAustralia
Just got this same call. Orginally they said they were from Microsoft, then Apple then finally Global IT. Their phone number (02) 8005 0464 did not match Global IT and they gave me two sydney addresses. I have passed on details to ACCC and police. - MelaniejayneJune 23, 2012UnknownAustralia
These people phoned me tonight (Alex Bolton ID MSO98, Indian lady though) claiming to be from Windows 7. Same story, computer errors and they could help me fix it by pressing the windows key, then ALT and R as soon as I heard this I knew it was suss. I looked this up it seems to be a common scam going around. Its disgusting - CRMay 22, 2012UnknownAustralia
These people are the pits. They have absolutely harassed my father in law every weekend for a month or so, claiming they (Jack ID 0786) (02) 8005 0464 were representing Bigpond. They provide anti-hacking email software to Telstra and Optus - sure. They managed to gain access to my father in laws computer which we have since had cleaned. But these people are praying on the elderly - so be careful "WARNING WARNING" I will be posting on www.scamwatch.gov.au - BarryMay 1, 2012Prank CallAustralia

received a call from their, mid 30s Indian woman claiming my computer has problem and asked me to turn my computer on.
Initially told me they are a department of Microsoft and I asked for their company name, eventually told me is Global Information Technologies, address "christ church rd" in Sydney [non existent]. Asked for their ACN, but gave me their phone number instead, (02) 8005 0464.
Finally I asked the caller's own phone number, at which point she hung up... - KatrinaApril 3, 2012UnknownAustralia
Have been harrased for over a week by these people. They are very hard to understand but have names like 'Jack' and 'Alex'. It was only the thired phone call that money came into. All about software warranties for 1 yr, 3 yrs or can you believe this lifetime? I am on the do not call register???? - DavidApril 2, 2012UnknownAustralia
We are wondering also. We have just had the same call. - Deirdre SchaefferMarch 20, 2012UnknownAustralia

Some 'Indian' sounding guy rang me and said he was reponding to a Microsoft error fault on my computer??? He said his telephone number was from Total I.T. and their phone number was (02) 8005 0464 (sure) - When I asked him for an A.B.N.(Australian Business Number) number he didn't know what I was talking about? Finally when I asked to sppeak to his 'Complaints Officer' he hung up on me! He was very pushy and wanted to fix my computer for me (sure) - MargaretJanuary 11, 2012UnknownAustralia
Lady rang and was quite pushy that they had detected a virus on my computer. I played along briefly until I got the name of the company she was from (Global Technologies Microsoft - lol) and the phone number (02) 8005 0464). Then I told her I knew it was a scam and I would be reporting her to the Federal Police - didn't know anyone could hang up the phone that quick!

Hi I just received one of these calls, telling me that my laptop has been sending errors to their server for the past two weeks. When I asked who they were they told me that they were a company called Global Communications working as support for Microsoft Windows. It was an indian lady called Sharon! She asked me to begin to press the ctrl key and the windows key, I became very suspicious and said I wouldn't do anything as I didn't know who they were. The lady gave me a number (02) 8005 0464 - I didn't call it! How do you report this?? It's definately dodgy! - Zor
