just got a call from this number, didn't answer

Caller: (02) 7201 8761.
Don’t bother answering a call from a number that has “Australia” as their area code.

This number had called nearly every 10 minutes all day. Going to buy a phone I can block numbers on tomorrow.

This caller is a male with an Indian ascent. He called a few times claiming that their company has a good relationship with St George Bank and pushed for me to make an appointment with their expert advisor. I kept telling him that I am not interested and that I don't want to make any change but he kept speaking over me and he hang up. Very rude, and giving a very poor reputation for the St George Bank. Is there any way I can identify which company this number belongs to. Lesson learnt ask for the name and company before engage in the conversation.

Got a call 8:55pm thought it was work (I'm on graveyard shift and asleep thanks for early wake up!) there was no one on the other end they hung up after a few seconds i called back thinking something was wrong got a recorded message "due to technically issues we can not connect your call".

In Australia you can't make unsolicited calls after 8pm!!!!

Call every day or so a few times a day. No message left. Very annoying to have to vet your calls before answering the phone.

I didn’t answer. They’re ringing daily the mobile and landline. They don’t leave a message. I waited until midnight deliberately to avoid being answered and it rings for a few seconds and stops, hanging up. It’s so annoying. Being on no call register hadn’t worked in the past. They call anyway. I worry because me elderly mum has a vision problem and mild dementia and lives on her own and every time I see an 02 number I wonder if it’s about her as she is under the care of a care agency. I wonder if it’s one of them on a number I don’t have. We should not have to be stressed out about stupid time wasting nonsense calls!

Caller rings. I answer. Caller hangs up. The reason they do this is to find out if there is a human answering the phone. Later you will get a call from a different number with some criminal fraudster trying to sell you stuff or threaten to disconnect your internet. Sometimes they will be local sometimes overseas. This is a business run by criminals who operate without limit. Hang up. Call your local, state and federal politicians and abuse them... see how they like it.

Calls over and over and hangs up and leaves no messages. What sort of scam... Well it isn't very good, is it.

Hung up on me. Telstra are useless! So is our Communications Minister Paul Fletcher who will not answer any questions about stopping these incessant scam calls.
