Canberra number. recorded message saying from ATO - this has to be a scam

Caller: Australian Taxation Office (ATO) Scam

Called demanding immediate payment for outstanding tax money, threatened further penalties and subsequent arrest.

tried to call me as well. ATO has confirmed it is not there number.

Caller: ‘Bian Kubel’ or something like that

An automated message told me to press 1... I did as I had just woken up and didn’t realise.
Spoke to an Indian guy who told me that I had intentially withdrawn information from the ATO, causing a benefit on my end of $5682 which they would now get an arrest warrant for.
63,000 to pay- I would either have to go to court and pay for a lawyer or pay the $5682 within the next 45 minutes- otherwise he would send my case to the local police department who would get in contact with me soon.
Wow, he almost had me but as soon as he asked for money I knew he was a scam 100%
He even gave me a ‘case ID number’, his ‘Batch number’ and the arrest warrant number...
They are such bastards! Hope nobody actually believes their mean scam!

Caller: ATO Scam

Threatened that I had an outstanding ATO payment due and to press 1 to connect now.

Recorded message supposedly from the ATO. I hung up on hearing that. I know the ATO never call with a recorded message. Big scam.

Random number rang me, didn't answer but will continue to ignore after reading these comments!

Answered but no one on the other end, I rang back and a recorded message said the recipient mail box was full.

Recorded message from ATO. Threatened arrest if you didn't contact them immediately by pushing option buttons. SCAM!!

Robo voice demanding payment of unpaid taxes or imprisonment. Total Crap!

This call is most definitely a scam

Rang for a second and hung up, lucky me I didn't have to listen to their nonsense...

Received 2 calls today so far. Didn't answer either time. No messages left. Decided to check with this site and suspect it may be a scam.

Answered call and a recording said it was the ATO trying to contact me regarding unpaid debts. Checked with the ATO and they say this is not true and they will never contact someone with a recorded message.
