Automated call saying it was the ATO and that this was a final warning and I needed to pay pending legal action and arrest.

It said press 1 to be connected so I pressed it and of course it said 'goodbye' and hung up. Damn, I wanted to say 'f*ck you scammer' and hang up on them!

Thanks for the information as I missed a call yesterday from this number so I won't bother to call back.

I just got a call from the same number, telling me that I was intentionally defrauding the ATO. The person sounded like some clown but he was reading out the Australian laws and bylaws, making it sound quite official and scary. However, when I asked that he tell me about the dates and nature of the violations I was being charged with, he kept avoiding the question. He said if I did not admit to my crimes, he'd call the police and have me arrested within 45 minutes. Eventually I got fed up and hung up.

Yes, I got the same message I was connected with a guy from India gave a fake name then he hung up.
When they ring back I will tell them I am the ATO.

DIDNT ANSWER, I RANG BACK - "SUBSCRIBER'S MAILBOX IS FULL, TRY AGAIN LATER"

Seems to be an Australian Tax Office scam

Just had a call from (02) 6216 1139. Although I didn't answer, I googled the number and it leads to ATO scammer. As above 26/03/19. they are obviously making the rounds........

It said press 1 to be connected so I pressed it and it sounded like a call centre. I person asked for my details so that he can check his system. I told my name and refused to disclose any more details. So he started abusing that do want me to take legal action via police. I hanged up

I also received several scam phone calls from 'ATO' demanding prompt payment.
