I have had 2 messages left on my phone today from Jason O'Coonor from ATO about a lawsuit filed against, me and to call back urgently on (02) 6188 5602

Same as everyone else. Dipsticks thinking we will all fall over our selves and believe them. Especially with someone who obviously struggles with the english language. Hope all there chickens turn into emus and kick there dunny down.

I called back and he called me a bitch and a slut. Don't waste your time on useless people like that!!

My mum has had 3 messages left from these people. She is 82 and worried that she is going to jail. She has been to the police twice and still nothing has been done. I have rang the ATO who advised a scam is going around. Like everyone above has said - why isn't something being done and what are these people getting out of it.

Got the same call from Jason O'Connor supposedly from ATO. Asian sounding man. Definitely didn't sound like a Jason O'Connor. Wanted me to call back on (02) 6188 5602. Scum bag. I can't imagine what this would do to an elderly person. Didn't call back.

Sounds like the same as reported in some of these comments. Why cant something be done to stop them. Blocking calls doesn't work as they shift to another number. Why can't the telcos do something, is it because they are making money from others misery and do not care

Keep getting calls from an "Officer Mark Brown" from ATO, wanting to take legal action on "criminal charges" against me and if I do not call back they will put a warrant for my arrest. Called back representing myself as an ATO member, and he would not give me an ID number, he immediately hung up. SCAM SCAM SCAM

Just had 2 messages, left on a Sunday!! Same Asian guy with an american accent. As if I would duped that easily. Have forwarded it onto the Serious Fraud Office.

Received two messages today both the same as above. Interestingly the calls name is cut off both messages. Will be reporting this matter to the police.

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!! Officer "Ross" Brown this time.. I see he's changed from Mark -_- left a message on my machine threatening that an arrest warrant would be taken out against me if I did not make contact & rectify the matter immediately.
(02) 6188 5602 .. American accent .. stated that he was not the enemy & just wanted to get this sorted before it was taken further.

I have had numerous calls from an overseas number and I finally answered today (didn't look at the caller ID before answering - silly me). The the indian woman asked for me, I said I wasn't available and could I take a message. She gave me this number and that she was calling from the ATO in Canberra. I asked how if she was calling from Canberra why did the caller ID say she was calling from overseas, she didn't understand and then hung up. I'm assuming next time it will say 'private number'.

note its not from this number - just asks for return call to go there.

Yes received same messages, 5 over the past week from both 'Officer Mark Brown' and a Jason O'connell or O'Connor. All calls threaten legal action and warrant pending.

We have had numerous calls from the same Asian man speaking with American accent. Have only tried to ring back once but no answer. Is clearly a scam, but don't understand what they are trying to do. Are people really this gullible? How can they keep a phone number and no-one know who they are anyway?

I have had messages on my ansaphone for months and just ignore them. Today I got 4 messages in the same day! Indian call centre - a woman this time repeating the same words each time - serious legal matter blah blah. Its just WRONG how these people get away with hounding ordinary Perth people.

several calls left on answering service over 18 hr period, worded exactly the same...no action by me, reeks of SCAM

These cretins are targeting 140 villas in a retirement village threatening the elderly people average 80 yrs plus - they are very aggressive and use bullying tactics and we have warned them all to hang up on these scam artists.
