Same recorded message purporting to be from Department of Centre-link -- push number 1 and it starts another pre-recorded message in the same voice telling me that after several attempts to contact me via my home number and email and as I had not responded my details . I hung up as it seemed wrong and threatening. The recorded voice does sound convincing.

I received an automated pre recorded phone call...exactly as the letter above...guessed it was a scam after a short time and hung up!

Exact same scam. Recorded voice pretends to be from Centrelink. Phoning lack of response to pension advice.

Just received a call from 'Centrelink' saying I had not responded to their letters and phone calls and that I needed to call head office in Canberra on (02) 6188 5602. Terrible line. First an Indian man answered and then the line dropped out. I rang back and an Indian woman answered - and the line dropped out. I googled the number and found this page. Had a similar call the other day from an Indian man who told me that Telstra were going to disconnect my internet. When will these people give up?

Received the same call today, Friday 8th July 2016.

(02) 6188 5602 - this telephone number was used to contact an elderly pensioner and try to arrange for the pensioner to obtain a Western Union money order from the Post Office and call them back so they can aid him in completing it. The money would be used to provide him with information about how his pensions were not being paid correctly and he was due more money. Please be careful when being asked to call this number. Scamwatch was informed.

A recorded message from 61885602 claiming they are from the Dept of Human Services Canberra. Saying we have not replied to letters and phone calls and for us to contact their department regarding pension payments. Phoned (02) 6188 5602 and was notified (by a recorded message) it is the Dept Human Services and to supply our access number to be directed to correct section. Said "Don't have access number". Number played music and then the line dropped out....

Recorded female message. Claims from Centrelink. Says press 1 , 2 etc but nothing happens. Then says because you did not respond......File now in Canberra because I have not responded to previous calls or letters. Leaves 02 number to call back. Just another scam.

Scam. Message left on message bank. Recorded message , Australian/English Denali voice. Message from Centre Link about increase and back payment. Have received no response to previous letters therefore file in Canberra. Application number 080456. Phone (02) 6188 5602 asap.

Had a call from "Centrelink" re me not responding to letters sent out about an under payment of my pension. I queried why Centrelink didn't use MyGov he became evasive. He then gave me an amount that appeared large ($858.72 per fortnight) and told that I should have been paid back to July last year. When I challenged this as I have only been retired since December 2015 he hung up.

Very Professional Scam call from a person called Jason Smith, strong Indian accent although he said he was born and lived in Canberra. The name and the accent didn't gel.

We requested his name and identity no, and became suspicious when he gave his name.

Phone message requesting that we call (02) 6188 5602 also gave a file ref no, stated he was from Centrelink, and advising that our pension files had been sent to Canberra and payments were to cease because correspondence from Centrelink had not been answered.

Said we had been underpaid by $4800 Centrelink were going to send an officer from Canberra with the cheque provided we had a $100 voucher in payment. We queried why they would bother to send an officer to our house, as we had never heard of this before.

Very smooth talker and very convincing presentation. requested our bank particulars, we told him he had to be joking.

Has been reported to all relevant agencies.

A message from Asian/metics. Man threatening criminal charges and arrest for nothing! Scam and hoax

"Officer Mark Brown" etc exactly the same as above. How do we block this number?

I have 2 of these messages from 'Officer Mark Brown' threatening legal action, accent similar to last description - Asian male speaking English with an American accent. The number he used today was (02) 6152 8693. I have reported it to the local station, the REAL officer tried the number while I was there, it just rang out.

Message from Officer Mark Brown called ph (02) 6152 8692 ( new number !) saying to call back regarding legal action against me

Now the number being left is 02 61 528 693 - Officer Mark Brown again with the accent left a threatening message. It was ignored.

Just home to retrieve phone messages as above .. 7 of them over 3 days - same Asian female voice asking to call (02) 6188 5602
