Claiming I was about to be arrested for tax avoidance and that I needed to call the number

I just got one as well for the same reason

Caller: Supposedly the ATO

It was an automated message saying "This is the Australian Taxation Office, you have been identified as an individual who has avoided tax.... the letter we sent regarding this via post was returned undeliverable..."

at this point I hung up.

Scam if I ever heard one!

Same as above - claimed I am avoiding tax and was to be arrested and to call back. Not the normal ATO mode of correspondence!

Call starts out with a Robot Call and then asks you to press buttons to speak to someone. I just hung up.
Hate these mongrels, they can easily con someone who is aged or disadvantaged

Apparently there is a warrant for my arrest... ok bro

I called them back and they answered as the ATO. When I asked why they were calling they just hung up

A potential Fraud number left a robot message in the message bank, claiming that my account had been marked for tax avoidance. In addition to there being paperwork sent to my registered address was apparently returned to them unsigned and undelivered. That a petition needs to get filed, including a warrant for my arrest before the case is sent for execution and to receive the legal notification. Told to press 1 for more information, or to call back on the same number.
