Called the number back and it was answered with "Officer David from Australian Taxation Office". Eminating call had a recorded message that threatened warrants for arrest and indicated that "mail had been returned not known at this address". When I asked for more details the number hung up.

Caller: This guy from the subcontinent has sexually propositioned my nephew!

Kept ringing my 14yo nephew and asking to suck his penis. Put it into your address book and then BLOCK them. Do NOT ever ring back these sorts of numbers. It only verifies your number as legitimate and they'll sell it on to other scammers!

Automated Message from Canberra called my mobile today Mon 17 June 2019 claiming that it was Australian Taxation Office. Very convincing and the message stated I had been involved in Tax Evasion and that this was a very serious matter and to please stay on the line to talk to Taxation Officer. I hung up and searched this number and then determined this is a big scam but a professional one. Had I stayed on line I think I would have been asked to provide personal details.

Do not provide ANY Details to anyone unless you can verify who they are.

I contacted police who asked me to go to Scam Watch Web Site to fill
On a report which I did. This is now a national scam professionally run it appears from Canberra no less.

When I answered the phone to this number I heard an automated female voice that was saying something about non-lodged paperwork and to either press 1 or return the call on the same number. This felt like a scam.
