Same message recieveed thought it seemed like a scam......

Bloody scammers just tried this on my mum ! Naturally she was worried, but the more she told me about it, sent the scam alarm off.. Glad I found your comments about this.

Our turn today.
Same sort of stuff: American accent, " Officer Mark Brown", issuing a warrant. . .; etc, etc. Sounds like a recorded speel.
Just ignore this idiot.

Hi, Just got the same message today and was worried but thought we have our own tax agent who look after us who tell us way in advance if we have issues with Taxation and he said that is a scam. Tax will send you post notice first and warn you. Don't fall for it. Definitely from India. They have been a lot of Indian scammers. I had also about my computer that hugely have a danger of having a virus and wanted to me to log me in. Don't fall for it. This was in current affairs. They will access your computer and will take all your details. What an appalling accent mate. Get a life...... you scam bags.

Lucky me also got a call from Jason Smith (love the Aussie name with India accent) if I don't call them 02- 61528696 I will have a warrant out for my arrest over bad taxes. Bring it on Jason I might just like handcuffs..... MORON

We had a message left on how answering machine saying they were the ATO and an arrest warrant would be sent out, if I didn't return the call. scam scam scam! I called the ATO they've told me to report it to reportemailfraud @ ATO.com.au you can also look it up on the ATO website.

I got a voicemail from (02) 9188 0000 which told me to call back on (02) 6152 8696... when i called the person called himself (Mark Davis from ATO) and started asking for personal details - and he definitely did NOT sound like a caucasian/white aussie...

When I asked him his title and if he could provide me ATO's 1300 number to call, he got pissed and said that's not what they were there for.... I persisted and he eventually disconnected.

Received message on answering machine saying that ATO Public Prosecutions had papers that are to be served on me for tax fraud and to call the them immediately when I read this message. Sounded like a scam.

had an answering machine message left advising me to call this number saying it was Peter from the ATO Commonwealth Department of Prosecution and I needed to call urgently as I was noted as committing fraud and tax evasion.

So this is a new one, guess I need to call them and give them $$$$$$ so that I am not prosecuted by the ATO.

If you receive a call from this number, please go to CDPP.gov.au and find their contact number. This is a scam, and the CDPP are putting together a list of people that call to pass onto the AFP, who are investigating these calls.

Claims to be the ATO. The ATO will never call you on the phone, they will contact you by mail. The ATO number is always a 13 number. SCAMMER!

Had a computerised voice stating that he was Peter of the ATO representing CDPP commonwealth of Public Prosecutions but not once did he refer to a name. SCAM!!!!
