Scam caller with a recorded message dialled from (02) 6152 8653 says they are from the ATO and I had better call them on this number before I am arrested. ATO send you a letter if there is a problem.

I have just received a call from (02) 6152 8653 and don't understand how they are still getting away with the scam from the same number when the ATO know about it.

ATO scam. Can be quite threatening and intimidating. All callers have foreign accents and others can be heard in the back ground. They Threaten to arrest you if you don't follow their instructions an pay stupid amounts of money often thousands of dollars. Had lots of calls from similar numbers 02 6152 86xx. Caller will hang up or get abusive if you mention scam or challenge them. This scam has been confirmed as a scam by the ATO and has been on the news. Messages have been left on answering machine.

Just received a call from this number with an automated message “You’ve been on my mind for the past week”. Didn’t respond so the line went dead. Amazing to think that these people think their scams can work...

I had a message left on our message bank 101 with a recorded computerised voice saying, 'This is Ron Watson from the Australian Taxation Office, Sydney and we have received a Legal Petition Notice concerning a tax file against your name. You need to phone (the above number) or you will be arrested!' It sounded sus so I searched the number and now see that it is a scam! Thank you for the information. I live in Perth.

Scam claiming to be from ATO requesting a call back.

Tax man... Yeah right... scammers... hung up.... and called back to let them know what i thought...:-) and they answered... poor them.... Ha Ha (02) 6152 8653

Just got this scam call too to our Home Messagebank 101.. Knew it was sus from the get go, I am in Hobart, Do not respond to this one just delete it or hang up.

These guys are scammers if you receive any messages from them, report them to the police.
