Scam tax office number

This number left a message on our home phone stating that we had a law suit filed against us and had to act immediately so further action will be taken! Oh and the message said good luck

Received a call 03/04/2017 advising Tax Evasion filed by ATO. They called themselves the Audit Department of the Australian Taxation Office. When I asked for a reference number the lady disconnected the call. I called back and spoke to a Kevin Sosa. He gave me Ref: CV1139. I then called the ATO on 1800 261 544 to check our TFN/ABN accounts and was advised that they're all in order and no outbound calls made to us, he also advised that it is most likely to be a scam! Please advise family especially the elderly & non computer literate members who may not look further into scam callers. Thank you Reverse Australia for providing this service.

SCAM - Says they are from the ATO demanding payment of account!!

I had a message left on my phone, from a voice recorded woman saying a law suit has been filed against me and to call back asap she also said if I didn't call back straight away I would have to wear the legal consequences she than said goodluck???

Fake scam number, automated american (computer) message saying we have filed a law suit against your name from tax debts and we are from the ATO. They are not from . the ATO. This scam happens every year. Don't answer it. Hang up, and if possible block the number

Received this call face consequences quite intimidating and threatening
I am reporting this to scam watch and going to file a police report re threatening behaviour.

The American accented female voice threatened a law suit if I don't call back.

SCAM says a serious legal claim lodged against my name and to ring as soon as I get the message. A recorded message in a female USA accent. I didn't ring the number of course 😐

Answered to a recording of a US male voice informing me I was urgently required to ring the ATO on the same number to avoid having the police turn up on my door step

Received a scam call from this number. Pretty obvious to me they hung up when I asked for their name. Seems to be a new scam though he said he was from the Australia lotteries, then he said it was a syndicate business. Looks like they are trying new scams after publicity about their previous scams

Asian man calling 4 May 2017 abusing an 8 year old child, and not even mentioning, the ato, however we had the Ato call requesting for our account number yesterday, as we did not have a caller ID he gave us his number which is the one from this thread.

same message left on my answering machine as all of the others that I have just read - the same number, law suit, legal consequences but only said department - no mention of ATO but sounds like same female american type accent.

Got another message making it 3 with the same massage who do you call to stop these parasites nsw police or federal police

Same call today 01/05/17, same female USA voice, saying from ATO again with same time urgent call back required

Hi, I just received the same threatening message and yes luckily we have this service to verify scammers. I was thinking nothing of it until I read Tiah's comments which are disturbing and I believe sufficient to report to the police.

An American lady from the ATO needing money from Australian's.
What a crock. Called my work business. Computer says no!

an abusive message was left on my phone saying ' that a serious law suit was filed against my name and that I needed to ctc them immediately or face further proceedings". These low lifes should have the weight of the government on them and be charged and jailed for leaving scam messages such as this I would hate to think if anything like this was left on a vulnerable persons phone and what they would become a victim to..

Got call to call back (02) 6145 0134 otherwise severe consequences, ...

Hanged up and got the same call second time, hanged up and automated female called again. Hanged up again.

For a moment wasn't sure, but checked this webpage and got confirmation of my suspicions.

Looking at this webpage scammers do it best part of April.
Interesting how come authorities did not shut down scammers by now.
