Recorded message with British female accent advising that I had a tax issue and a warrant for my arrest has been issued. really?

I got the same call. I called back, and almost started laughing when the man answered with 'Hello, Australian Tax Office'. He asked for details, as he wasn't the person who tried to contact me, I explained I would wait for an official call. he then hung up. I have reported the on the ATO website.

Fake Tax Office scam

Got same call and voice message. Call back does not work. Possibly a scam.

Same deal - automated tax call re tax return not being signed etc - when you call the number (02) 6100 3499 back the bloke was abusive and threatening...

I answered the call and it was a recorded message saying there was an issue with the tax return and that I need to complete some paperwork, which apparently was sent but returned as it was not signed by a person. Didn't bother to call back the number. If there was really an issue, notification will be sent via MyGov.

Just had same recorded message..I did a google search of number and confirmed my suspicions...I blocked co tact immediately

Just had the same number call, female, British, robotic style voice mentioned something about a petition needing to be lodged as well as a warrant for my arrest. Given the amount of complaints against this number I won't be calling back.

I called the number back and they said I have a warrant for my arrest due to tax issues yet I do not even work.

Same message advising overdue tax bill and a warrant for arrest imminent. This is a scam & I suggest blocking the caller.

Received a recorded message, called back the number a guy answered saying he was from the taxation office asked my name then followed up with "do you have a boyfriend" a waste of time.

Caller : Indian guy with indian accent asking for to pay unpaid tax $3680 to the bank right now or will send me to the court and fine is $25000.

Just received the same call, left similar message. Dodgy.

I got the same call, I think it's a scam because ATO normally send the notification through mygov??

Tried ringing number back and call failed!

Same here. Call advising that some paperwork had been sent to my address and has been returned because of wrong address.

I rang back the number (02) 6100 3499 once but got disconnected
