received 2 calls from this number within 25 minutes of each other, purporting to be from the dept of prosecutions saying that either I or my lawyer had to call urgently due to a court hearing in Canberra against myself for tax avoidance and tax evasion. no details of my name were supplied by the caller, nor to the tax years that i was supposed to have committed the tax offences, nor any details of the tax debt that might be owed, or any details of the court hearing dates. More professional in its tone than other such calls that i have received in the past, but still rings untrue as the ATO would normally issue written notices of pending action against taxpayers..........l.

Had a message left on the answering machine Telling me about a case being filled against me for tax avoidance and that I should contact my lawyer and contact a "kenith Mathews" on (02) 6064 2026. I am a person who servers from anxiety and this left me feeling very worried.

Didn't pick up so caller left message on answering machine. Couldn't understand most of it due to accent. Something about a tax issue in Canberra. What a joke - do they really think we're that gullible?!?!?

receieved 2 x calls in one day message left saying tp call the number back, and ask for Kenneth, as i owed a tax debt, did not reply to me by name, sounded rather aggresive

We have just received a call on our business landline from an automated message system saying they are from the ATO, they asked us to return the call on (02) 6064 2026.
Is this a scam?
We are trying to call the ATO.

Same as above ken matthews about tax evasion. Its a scam didnt say who he was after and left a detailed msg which you wouldnt do u less a scam. Very dodgy
