Caller: Scam call

Annoying, keeps calling several times a day. Claiming to be a Telstra consultant. Very rude

Neither telstra nor other phone services (Optus etc) can track these calls because they do not come through the telephone exchange. They are VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) generated calls from a computer that uses the broadband cable to make calls. The clear clue is the gap between speaking and hearing which is a basic sign of packet-loss from a computer when it attempts to connect to another. If the calls came via the telephone exchange then ACMA will pursue them as long as people submit complaints via their website. The VOIP calls mostly stem from outside Australia. Perhaps a letter to the Federal Communications Minister Hon Mitch Fifield would be worthwhile to urge some international action to occur. The US IRS and FBI worked with Indian police to roll-up one fake scamming call-centre.

Just got a call from this number (02) 5879 6463, claiming I have had two amounts deducted from my account of big amounts. Told me to press 1 to confirm. I hung up.

Idiot scammer who hijacks legitimate numbers sometimes stolen from real people. ACMA, ACCC/Federal police only encourage it by not giving a damn. So what if our telephone system goes to hell. Idiots, the lot of them.

Caller: Claimed to be Telstra, but Telstra do not contact by phone!

Automated message with instructions to press numbers 1 etc. I hung up.

Caller: Somebody claiming to be from Telstra Technical Department

Recorded message saying hello customer, this is telstra technical department.
Hang up, it's a scam and the worst thought out one at that

Scam call demanding money owed to the ATO DONT ANSWER!

Says he is from Telstra SPAM tell him to get an honest job and hang up

Claiming to be Telstra...they are hackers, hang up on them.

Third day in a row. Same scam, different numbers. Grrrr!

Caller: Text-to-voice message claiming to be Telstra

Recorded message claiming that NBN is in the area & my phone/account will be disconnected within 24 hrs. Says to press 1 for a technician. Of course I didn't bother. Too obvious it's scammers

Poor struggleing Telstra unable to track down these scams ???

SCAM Telstra caller ...

Pretends to be Telstra ... hung up when I accused him of lying.

Called claiming to be from Telstra, Threatening internet disconnection. Robot message said press 1 to speak to consultant or press 2 to have you internet disconnected.
