Why does the govt allow phone service providers to issue phone numbers to just anyone. Every person & every company who applies for a phone service should be either an Australian citizen or a registered Australian company. Blocked (02) 5118 9791.

Defo spammer as if anyone knows anyone in Anembo, NSW!! I’d never even heard of it before the call.

Happened a few times where (02) 6402 9923 rings my wife's mobile phone. She doesn't answer, then I immediately get a call from this number. Whoever this spam is has both my wife and my mobile numbers
and are calling from two different numbers

Called at 7.30pm 23/02/23 - left no message. A similar number (using the 02 5118 prefix) called at 5.30pm and left no message.

Unbelievable that telcos & pollies can’t stop these unsolicited calls from random numbers.
Surely, this issue can be dealt with.

No wonder nobody answers their phone from 80% of callers.

Same experience as posted by someone previously for this number. A call from (02) 6402 9923 on our landline, followed about 10 minutes later by a call from (02) 5118 9791 (Anembo) to my mobile. Did not answer either call.

Old Call logs show this number called on 7 Mar 2022 6:22pm and 21 March 2023 at 5:20pm; nothing for this year. I also advise compiling list of spamming numbers in order to block specific digit combinations. Haven't worked out yet how to block everyone not in my Contacts, I am educating people to sms/email me first to advise what time they are calling.
