Caller: Indian scammer Same as others have reported - claimed to be from an Accidents department?? Wanted to know if I’d had any accidents in the last 3 years. I said yes and put him on to talk to my accident - my two year old hahaha. Buh-bye! (Super annoyed that these scammers have now infiltrated my unlisted private home number grrr. Have managed to avoid them all til now. Would love to know the jerk who sold my details...)

It appears it was a scammer as per the other comments. If I don't recognise the number I don't answer the phone. How they got my unlisted home phone number I don't know, but I would love to know. They wouldn't have gotten anything from me anyway, I haven't been in an accident and I never give out personal details to anyone on the phone unless I call them.

No message left but from other comments this is a scam that I used to receive all the time. I once played along with her and admitted that I had been in accident but she never said what she wanted me to do. Badly run scam. Block her.

got the (02) 4867 1395 call, silent, then hung up, then i had a call yesterday from this number 0441273883675 (notice way too many numbers for australia, australia is 10 numbers for both mobile and landline) same deal was silent then hung up, about 1 hour later i got a private number call, they said " hello this is john (sounded like a very indian john) and i am calling from the do not call register?) all i said was "really" and they hung up lol apparently the first call from the 0441273883675 call to see does anyone answer, then they pass it on to the next lot, which in this case was indian John lol not sure why they waste their time.

Agreed. They ring on my landline with a number clearly showing to make it look legit. Only takes one vulnerable person to fall for their spiel and its a success!

Caller: Male with Indian accent Another scam from the accident investigation department! Why can’t the telecommunications ombudsman do something about these scammers operating within Australia. I’m on the Do Not Call Register - why do we have it?

Caller: Claims Advice They are the motor vehicle accident scammers - I played them along for 13 minutes at which point I told them that they picked the wrong person today and that I am a solicitor (which I am) and told them that I intend to report for breaches of the Telecommunications Act - they tried to wriggle and say that I had lied to them and that they hadn't done anything wrong because they hadn't asked for my BSB or Account Number - to which I said 'yet' and goodbye.

Called me at work today - calling from the Claims Office - asking if I had been in or had caused an accident. When I asked which insurance company they were calling from he hung up. How they got my work number is unknown.
