They left a recorded msg saying that I owed money to ATO and paperwork has not been returned and case would go to court. Phoned the ATO, nothing to do with them, they stated it was a scam and have passed it on to say department. Make sure you don't give any personal details and pass it on to the ATO!

It makes me so mad when these creeps call anybody, especially the elderly and vulnerable. As for me, I have a bit of fun with them and tell them my case is already before the courts, or the individual they are seeking is deceased, or I think they have a really sexy voice. My best trick is to 'play deaf' and keep asking them to repeat and/or speak up ... or to speak more clearly. Waste their time, as that might stave off another call that could potentially harm some innocent individual(s).

Last Friday I received two mobile calls and two fixed landline messages from these scumbags. I wonder where they got my number from. I also wonder what the police and the isps are doing about them, as last time I asked my isp for assistance they said it'd cost me. I know these scumbags are just scumbags, but I am concerned for people who are more vulnerable such as pensioners. I feel that not enough is being done at any level - law enforcement or phone/net services - to address this issue. It keeps getting worse and the threats are getting nastier.

yes just got a call and they left a garbled message that i have been avoiding tax and there could be a warrant for my arrest and to ring that number

Same as original poster, called ATO and asked them what the deal was. They said scam.

I received a recorded message from this number advising several letters had been sent to me about my delinquent account and if I didn't ring an arrest warrant would be issued. There was no details of the delinquent account given so if i did have many so called accounts I would not know which one it referred to

Yes, I have received two calls from these scum bags; yesterday and today. Be very careful should you get one. They are meticulously brilliant at mimicking the ATO.

We continuously get a recorded message and it says to call the number stated. It says we owe money and we will be prosecuted. Apparently from the ATO. How do we stop these idiots from calling!!
