We have got a same call from this number threatening to arrest.

This was a scam in 2016 now tax time in 2017 are doing it again. This is a particularly nasty recorded message from someone threatening the arrest of the taxpayer for neglected back taxes. It looks like a sydney02 number,it is probably an overseas mobile. When you ring the number you get an engaged signal, and don't even get put in a waiting queue. The perps of this scam deserve a particularly long Gaol sentence along with a good kick in the balls if they have any,for the threatening nature of their enterprise. Recorded message. Three of them actually advising that I had not done a tax return and that my account was delinquent...LOL. No mention of names etc.

obviously a scam - recorded threatening voice supposedly from the tax department. Usual threats about warrants and jail. Why don't the police catch these people?

Same as K and Mike. Recorded male voice now on my answer phone. 28 and 29 June. I am not going to be calling back!! What a cheek.

As mentioned by others, recorded message claiming to be from the Australian Taxation Office. Threatening arrest. Surely these scammers can be traced. Area code appears to be Batemans Bay, Maruya.

Same thing, recorded male voice advising fraudulent tax return threatening arrest unless I ring this number.

Fake tax department call.

Surely the Telco's can let the police know who has this number as someone must be paying the phone bill....I say lock them up with the rest of the crims and leave us alone. By the time I get home of an afternoon the last thing I want is an annoying phone call from these low life parasites.

A pre-recorded male voice, claiming to be ATO, my tax returns fraudulent and understated, subpoenas issued, I will be arrested, am under surveillance, must return call etc. Quite threatening.

Recorded message saying they were from the tax department. Usual claptrap about warrants and going to jail. This is obviously a scam
