Automated message, scam claiming to be from the tax office advising a rejected claim!

I received a call from this number but didn’t answer as it is an unknown number. I googled the number and found all these comments.I worked for ATO and this is definitely a scam. They don’t call people to say that they are going to charge them. Everything is done by correspondence and there are procedures they follow. Even the wording is completely wrong from what they use.

Recorded male voice advising my tax returns fraudulent and understated, subpoenas issued, I will be arrested, am under surveillance and must return call. A threatening scam, no doubt.

Luckily my phone has a block feature so I have blocked the number after 4 calls. Spoke to my Tax Accountant who advised if you go through a Taxation Accountant then the Taxation Office would contact them direct and not the person directly.

Interesting that this scammer has a flurry of complaints in 2017 and quiet since? Received a call on my home phone today, mid-morning, no message left. Checked here, looks like they have started up again for 2023 tax time. Now blocked but I have a feeling they will jump around with other numbers to dodge the block.

Auto Msg:- We have identified incorrect (something) of Tax filings and we regret to inform you that your account has been marked delinquent on account of tax avoidance. That our letters sent to your registered address have also returned unsigned and undelivered, resulting into a petition yet to be filed against your name including a warrant for your arrest, now before the case is sent for execution and you've received the legal course of notification you can call our concerned officer.
Received 2 yesterday on the answering machine...Scam 100%

Phoned numerous times but didn't leave message. Also ato scam calls received from similar number (02) 4407 0049. Why won't telco's cancel these numbers (even if cloned number used, why can't they provide real owner with new number & re-direct ongoing calls to the Australian Signals Directorate’s Australian Cyber Security Centre) ?

Picked up a call from this number but didn't say anything. The call dropped after a few seconds.

Had same call from same number with one digit difference (02) 4407 0023) a few days ago. Blocked that number, now blocking this one.

(02) 4407 0022 Received Male recorded voice three times now claiming to have issues with tax and is most distressing. Not funny and could cause major problems for people with health issues. How do we stop these?

Received a message on my mobile. Called back the number.
The guy has such an accent I couldn't understand what he was talking about, something about my tax being audited, asking for some sort of criminal report... I asked to speak to someone else and he hanged up on me. How rude !!! lol

As all the above mention I just got same call and apparently I told a recorded voice to go fuk himself ya scamming foreign fuk. Pardon my potty mouth. I didn't know wasn't real person on there lol

Have been receiving this scam everyday for 4 weeks now to the business phone. sometime multiple times each day. Same story. male automated voice, recent audit, immediate arrest for tax avoidance... can't afford to be waiting on the phone to report scam to real ATO tho :(

Got this message twice this week, scumbag scammers claiming to be from the tax office via recorded message

I also received call from same male voice recorded in my landline phone. This is harassment. If it is true, I want letter from the ATO regarding this issue.
