A scam call, with a robot voice claiming a lawsuit has been filed against your name (without specifying your name) and threatening 'hard and legal consequences if you don't call back'. The sarcastic 'good luck' at the end of the message is a nice touch!

Received the same call, spoke to someone with a very heavy indian accent, who informed me if we didn't settle this so called debt to the "ATO" we would be arrested in 45mins. I told him he could send the police to arrest us, because I am a police officer and my husband is a criminal lawyer (which we are both not lol) and asked him for his ATO employee ID number, he then tried to backtrack on what he was saying, and when I kept throwing more questions at him he could not answer he got very frustrated and hung up on me. How is that I outscammed the scammers!!!

They told us they are from the taxation fraud department, also claiming that there is a criminal law suit against us. Scam

Just received exactly this same message twice this morning on our home phone message bank in the Wollongong NSW area.

Just received the call on our phone. Robot voice and the Good luck at the end was just such a give away. Ours claimed a serious law suit had been filed against you but said it was from the tax office.

Had the same call just now. Claim he was from the ATO legal department. Told him I was too smart to be scammed and when he claimed it wasnt I asked him what my Tax File number was - and got him again when I asked what my first name was as he had obliviously got my number straight out of the whitepages (which has an address that is 20 years out of date).

Asian/American accent - serious consequences - serious loss filed against my name. Really? Damn scammers!

I rang back to get intel A yoing Australian male answered tgen quickly put the robot voice on. Maybe the scam has been franchised. I've reported it to the ATO.

A threatening robotic voice claiming I needed to pay an ATO debt asap. I rang back to see if I could get some intel. Someone, a young Australian male guy probably teens or early 20s made the mistake of answering my call then put the recorded message on. There was what sounded like call centre activity in the background.

I received a message from an Officer Jennifer Smith about a 'serious lawsuit' that was 'time sensitive'. Obvious scam. Didn't even use my name or a case number. Nice try, bozo.

Just received the same call and although deep down I believed it must be a scam, it still freaked me out ('what if it IS real??!') Sooooo glad I found this wall of comments from others - phew!!

Same message threatening dire legal action, same good luck sign off at end. Left a phone number of (02) 4243 7529 to call back, but my caller ID display said that call originated from (02) 8035 4120. Why can't Telstra disconnect these scam phone numbers?

This no. called today, usual BS from crims, what the hell the AFP is doing re this sh*tpots is beyond me.

Another number for the (growin) blocked numbers list!
