I just received a letter from them saying that they have bought my debt from 3 and were trying to get me to pay money that was not owed to them. Somehow they managed to find out about a previous cancelled debt and were claiming that they have purchased the debt from Vodafone and I now owe them!! When I threatened to call the ombudsman regarding their claim, he said, "You don't need to do that, we'll close the debt." Amazing!

found it pretty funny they would not release any information about alleged debts due to the privacy act but then expect you to say your contact number, email, house address, date of birth and full name before they give you any information

And I quote "If you find the Staff member is away as I did, you will find that another staff member is impersonating them which is illegal if not signed-off correctly ("per") "

Impersonating? Illegal? So If I call CBA Private and don't get my usual relationship manager its illegal for them to help me because my RM is away/busy? I must be living under a rock or something! Hahaha

At first I was in shock.. but my solicitor said to pay the business account with Hutchison and once paid in full we were going to lodge legal action on hutchison. (RUTHLESS BASTARDS!!) You'd expect when you cancel in the "cooling off period" you'd only pay the $370 for the usage for the 11 days.. NOT the $15,000 exit FEE!!

I've been dealing with Ausdebt for around 2months now, and always paying my scheduled repayments. I call EVERY week to make an additional payment. And my Account Manager on several occasions has not been in the office and I've spoken with many others. Had some nice chats with a few as well and found out they are all Account Managers and they need to answer 2 inbound calls each hour.

None the less, Ausdebt staff are really friendly and nice but I understand sometimes having a job as a debt collector can be tough when you have to deal with alot centrelink people who can't afford to pay these bigs bills and I can only imagine the abuse they get. (Glad its them not me hehehehehe :P)

Just contact them upon initial notification.
They have no right to be rude or nasty and you have every opportunity to take the matter further by complaining about them to the relevant authorities. I recommend you e-mail them in order to have a record of your dealing with them. If you find the Staff member is away as I did, you will find that another staff member is impersonating them which is illegal if not signed-off correctly ("per")

If you receive the blank contact letter its becasuse you have avoided previous attermpts of contact.
if by this stage you have recieved that letter it would be safe to say your CRAA has become affected -

get in contact with them and pay your debts -
generally people actually owe the money there being told they do
so dont be difficult and the mercantile agent on the other end of the phone wont make it hard for you.

remeber be resonable with them and they will with you.
dont swear or raise your voice it at the end of the day will get you nowhere.
they are just doing there job aswell and at the end of the day they dont care if they go home
and they have put your acc in the too hard basket and not seen it for months so your craa is effected.

The adr company is a threatening company, who can do anything to get the money out from the concumers no matter what. The women Diana Petroska is a stubborn women and very rude. whenever she calls she just talks rudely and start harrassing sound like she is very racists. That kind of person should not be the account manager. She should be kicked out from that position and put someone else there who can understand a person and listen what a consumer want to say rather than yelling on the phone and demanding money straightaway. Sounds like she having a miserable life herself thats why she is making a normal peoples life miserable. Shame on her being a woman.

Just received the same type of letter today ! Surely there's a Government or Telephone Agency to contact to get their number shut down ?? If anyone is aware of such a place to complain to please post it n this site. I'd be happy to call them & complain. This reeks of spam !

This agency troubles the consumers who may have already disputed claims with their telecommunication provider
The personnel working for it are highly unprofessional and rude and can threaten the consumers in several ways even by crossing their legal and professional boundaries.
Contact ASIC and ACCC if someone is troubled as they will certainly help

Yeah my hubby got the same kind of letter. I thought it was rather odd that there was NO letterhead and NO details regarding 'urgent matter'. I'm glad I found this info online before he called. Bloody sh*ts me that there are A**holes out there trying to scam innocent people. Even more sad is that there are people out there that, unfortunately, get fooled by this garbage!!!!!!
