Automated message from Ebay, pretending I'd made a $299 purchase. Wanting me to ring back....

Just received the exact same call, thanks for this, it helped.

Well well, they have changed their game a little - the pre-recorded message said I had a $199.99 e-bay gift voucher that I allegedly used... Not sure changing the scam from $299.99 to $199.99 is going to change anything for them :-I Please stop calling me scammers!!!!!! PLEASE, I get about 3 a day..... at least.

When are these scammers going to learn that we who live in Australia are not stupid.
These people should be caught and punished.
They are all low down dirty scammers.

Absolute scam. They are phishing for info pretending to help stop a made up scam against you. I suggest calling them back repeatedly and clogging up their phone lines.

Call on my mobile from Ebay, pretending I'd made a $299 purchase. I answered, down loaded the form and stopped when it asked me to fill in my bank account details. The caller didn't like it when I said I will call my bank to stop any funds leaving.

I also have recieved calls from this number but always check first when it’s an unknown number I blocked the number but somehow they managed to ring again on the same number , I double checked at that number was blocked so heaven knows how they could get through 😬

Missed a call from this number. I called back. Answered by someone with very poor English skills, said it was "eBay" and asked me to confirm my full name. When I said I am not confirming anything, they hung up.

Just had the call about a purchase. Thanks for all the comments won’t be stressing now. Shows up from Newcastle number so answered it and listened to eBay speed about a purchase I’d made and what numbers to query or cancel. Thankfully thought this was most unusual so checked here and see yes was right is a scam.

Got a missed call. Rang back with silence on the other end.

Someone saying their from Ebay Australia but their NOT. Saying someone hacked my "new" ebay account and made a $199 gift card purchase so they wanted me to download an app from google play store and connect to their servers. I told them I was recording this call and they hung up on me.
