was in Facebook, via Chrome and received a pop up message from "windows support' that I had got Zeus virus(etc) and to ring 1800 053 455. Rang the number 1800 953 455 - answered by someone with Indian accent who claimed he was windows support - guy seemed to get tetchy when I asked who he was. Said it was a serious problem and then mysteriously rang off. screen seemed to freeze and could not close Facebook window
Shut down laptop and restarted - Seems to have resolved the problem

SCAM. Noisy call centre, strong Indian accents.

Far too used to abuse.

I called them in relation to Zues virus. Easy fix by the way, google it.

I had this screen come up on my computer "Warning" and my computer was frozen ,,,said to call this No, which I did, they said they were Windows Support Group, the guy I talk to had Indian accent and said the office was in Canada.. He wanted me to do all these things to fix my computer and told me I have 7 hackers, people watching everything I was doing online.. Said if I payed $299... He could fix the problem, I have security on my computer, but he told me my security wasn't working... When I told him I'm not paying any money, and told him I don' t do any internet paying with my bank,, immediately he hung up... Scam..

My Chrome browser suddenly has a tab that says "Due to repeated malware attack windows is resetting itself. You may lose your personal files on this computer. Your system data has been compromized. Hackers may track your financial activities and get access to your personal files on this system." and instruct to "please report this activity to 1800 953 455". It also has a very strange annoying sound, and I cannot get rid of this tab. I have not made the call, just looked up the phone number on another browser and found 4 complaints. It seems it's a scam! But I don't know how to get rid of this tab in Chrome yet, and the annoying sound...

I found it strange that the guy had a VERY Asian accent and disconnected the call.

If a box appears on your computer telling you to ring this number ignore. they say they are cleaning out virus. Then try to "sell" safety plans. They say they are from Microsoft.
