Caller: scam on computer
Pop up appeared on our Apple computer after clinking a link on facebook. There was a "so called"Apple support number attached 1800 865 120) which we foolishly called. Netcom IT services, supposedly based in Perth claimed that our IP address had been comprised by pedophilias and drug dealers. Anyway long story short, we got scammed by them to fix our computer. Only when we goggled the support number did we realise we had been had.
They freeze your computer with malware (inserted if you click on some links in Facebook) Then they demand money (in my case US$300) to fix your computer. Also call themselves Focus Repair - Best Tech Support. I believe they are in 96 Hay Street Perth WA
Caller: Scam company
Will try to get you to let them access your computer. DON'T LET THEM.
Will try to get your bank credit or debit card details. DON'T GIVE IT TO THEM.
I know people who have been scammed by these people and have had their bank accounts accessed and cleaned out. BEWARE.
Parents in law got scammed. Just opens more windows no virus etc. close down and restart I'm the biggest idiot, they got me twice, once in October and again last night. Too late for October and that was the big one and after reading these I have contacted my bank cancelled my credit card and changed passwords on bank and on paypal. Hopefully it has been in enough time to stop them getting the money. SCAM SCAM SCAM Foolishly paid them. A younger person would have known better.
I clicked on a site in Facebook and a loud message appeared on the screen saying I had a virus and to ring 1800 865 120 to fix it. The volume on my machine was turned fully up and couldn't be turned down. I tried turning the machine off at the switch but no go. I rang the number and after being instructed to press control R they took control and fixed it. Following this I had to electronically sign a contract and was billed $529 or $750.The contract is with TECHEXPERTOS EUROPE SL of Ronda Sant Pere 52 4P 08010 Barcelona Spain. It appears it is the usual SCAM coverage for 5 years and the invoice was from Netcom It Service 926 Hay St Perth WA 6000. I looked up this this number on satellite and it is a comic shop. Be careful folks.
we also got scammed by this number, in early April, and foolishly believed it, were told our computer was infected, and they could deal with it. Company also based in Perth. Luckily for us , we went away the next day and turned the computer off at the wall, when we came home there was a recorded call on our telephone from Kim to see if our computer was working correctly, so I rang the number she provided and found out it was a scam, so had to change an account, the lucky thing was, we do NOT do internet banking, and have now learnt what to do in the future. Apparently they are based in Singapore.. I now know why I don't trust anyone on the phone with an Indian accent.. Caller: AZURESOFT IT
I believe I got conned ( stupid i am ) but my computer was playing up and I could not get it right.I contacted AZURESOFT and they put me intouch with COMNET IT SERVICES on a couple of phone numbers They fixed my computer also asked about SECURITY.
I had none so I agreed to there SECURITY.Since then I have not been able to contact them at all ( Paid a lot of money 29 .0.2018 ) it was for 5 years.NOT HAPPY
It seems that I have been scammed, this same scenario (anonymous March 5, 2019) , different name, happened to me evening of 20th April 2019. They seemed to fix the problem but I was left feeling uneasy with the whole deal, and it appears justly so.
Today, 21st April 2019, I am about to ring my Bank hotline to cancel the card used and put a hold on the payment.
Caller: bruce called wanted to refund money
locked my computer paid them the money what a fool .then when they just rang got annoyed with me for not doing what they wanted and hung up
Yeah got scammed last night. Little buggers, so professional and so easy to please. Had to stop bank card and bankng services. Investigations on going. BE AWARE. Caller: Chad Ext 2005 They probabley use false names
Problem happened while browsing on Facebook 6-3-2019. I got stung for $300us to unblock my computer, I was tired at the time, it all looked very legitimate so I never picked up it was a scam,I have cancelled my visa card also blocked my net banking until I get my computer checked out in case they have infiltrated it.These are very sneaky clever people so beware.
Caller: Had a pop on computer which stopped me from opening it and told to phone 1800 865 120
I rang and got jimmy kashuba. He said I could pay so much for one year, a bit more for two and $700 for lifetime security and support. So I did this and he asked to get on to my computer so he could tidy it up. I did this but afterwards I felt concerned.
I then got an account for $700 in email and $988.26 was taken from my account. I then noticed the account was USD price. This morning I got a phone call from somebody who wanted my bank account so they could refund money I had paid but I wouldn't do it...so they got angry and hung up. In the meantime I rang Bank and they cancelled credit card and amount of $988.26. I tried to email the email addresses but these were returned. ie. billing @ netcomitservice.com; support @ netcomitservice.com. I also looked up 926 Hay Street, Perth, WA which was on the invoice and this is a house but no details on property.
Caller: Fake Microsoft call centre from India
1800 865 120: Re-routed numbers to a nasty and sophisticated call centre based in India that pretends to be working as or for Microsoft support team.( Apple computers are an easy target). They are FAKE, FAKE, FAKE. Those scums are installing malwares and viruses from popups or with bundles software as Adobe Flash. More importantly, Adult sites are 98% to be found as their favourite way of passing their viruses. Your internet browser suddenly freeze and your computer is being frozen. Best way is to shut your computer down ( by pressing power button for 20-30 to seconds ...or, Press ESC continuously for 10-15 seconds ...or to make sure, unplug Your computer). Fear and stress will take over with messages saying that your computer has had a virus attack. Restart with a clean browser cache and a run of a antivirus if you have one. Talk to someone (to your local computer guy) if you are not reassured or still in distress. This is a free phone call number, that’s targeting Australian audience. Note that nothing has changed in your computer system but check if some extensions had been added to your browser. If you do a lot of surfing the net, always run Task Manager that can stop any further damage. Do not let those curry scumbags win.
CALL YOUR BANK, CANCEL YOUR TRANSACTION.
Computer scam. This number was given as a direct number to Martin Johnson supposedly senior technician at Microsoft after we called the number on the pop up "security alert". When I felt uneasy about allowing anyone to direct me, I said I needed to do something immediately and that I would ring back, thus number was given He wanted to call back in 15 minutes, I declined, said I would call. After checking with Microsoft online, I realised it was a scam so auto rejected the phone number, when as expected, he called back. Got out of Chrome, Facebook by using Task Manager. We need to make sure our security system s are up to date and be very aware! Caller: Daisy Watson (x610)
Locked my computer and supposedly showed me numerous "stopped" functions because numerous viruses had been found on my computer. Assured me that my computer could be cleaned and this would ensure all other computers on the same network would be OK. Wanted me to pay $149 to clean my computer and then wanted me to enter into a contract for follow-up checks. Declined!
Checked my Task Manager and found GoToAssist files and multiple Chrome entries. Cleared them all and ran Malware. No worries since.
