I received phone call claiming to be from nbn (another one - I am usually sceptical and hang up) however as we are about to have street node connected to house I listemed). They said internet would be off for 4 hours on Friday and a tech would visit our house I asked who Telstra account name was and they correctly answered.
They asked me to tell the technician an ID number (quite convincing) then wanted a portal number and told me to go to www.quickspeed - I refused to give access until I had rung Telstra directly which I did - telstra had no record of any jobs- SCAM but more convincing than most.

Caller: NBN Scammer

Just had our third phone call from these people. He got us the first time because we had actually had a lot of issues with the phones, so when the technician didn't turn up, we rang the real NBN and finally got it sorted... :) New modem and everything. They've rang back twice since and today they gave this number to ring 1800 687 626 and this is where I ended up when I googled. Nice. An lady with an accent was attempting to get into my computer again and was very offended when I said I didn't beleive she was from the NBN network. I've just put the phone on the Government block list, hoping that will help.

Indian sounding gentleman called from mobile number 0457 757 820 which sounded like a call centre. Calling from the NBN and were doing upgrades that may affect my connection. Asked if he could have my network speed. I asked if I could call back and he gave me 1800 687 626. SCAM

They are still using the 1800. 687626 number. Won’t say what actual Australian company they are working for, just we work for NBN in Australia. Most likely the usual suspects calling from their office in scam central.

Said he was a supervisor from NBN. He wanted to know when I could make an appointment for technicians to come to my home and change my modem which he said was an old version. I said I would NBN myself and he gave me the 1800 687 626 number.
He called from 0412 433 937.
He knew my name and address. I was hesitant to give him any details and so he said he would call back at 3pm. PLEASE DON'T

The Indian sounding gentleman telephoned to say that the NBN cables were being upgraded. The new ones would be delivered and he wanted a payment of a small amount via a credit card.
No time to send an official letter he said, out internet will be cut off TOMORROW.
Very difficult to end the call - he would not stop talking.

The Indian speaking lady told me their technicians were in my street and had to replace something in order to make our internet faster. She wanted me to log onto my computer to check the speed. I told her I didn't believe her and that I had no trouble with my internet anyway, so she passed me onto a "supervisor" who was also Indian and he assured me they were not scammers. I asked him for his number and this is the one he gave me. I'm definitely not calling them back.

From what appeared to be an (03) Melbourne number with a story about NBN, was clearly a scam. Asked the Indian call centre lady for her name so I could call back and she said 'Sophia Wilson' on 1800 687 626.

I received a call from this number claiming my modem is outdated and needs replacing. He had my old address. I refused giving him the new address. He told me he lives in Australia (Brisbane, Victoria lol) which confirmed to me he’s a scammer. He gave me the 1800 number to call him back (which I won’t be doing).

Caller: BEWARE - Jennifer Olsen NBN

Second time I have received a call from these scammers, proclaiming to be from NBN.
They are trying so hard to get into my home to supposably update my modem. I played along sounding so surprised and worried that my modem needed an upgrade.
They knew my postcode and street name 😡 and wanted to send the technician around immediately after my package arrived that I needed to sign! I asked Jennifer Olsen ( not her real name) for her ref# she replied with NBN52698897 as her employee #.

When she asked how old my modem was, I replied ‘Well you should know because you are the one telling me it needs to be upgraded because it’s old, she asked me again, is it more than 6months old? I replied again with ‘‘Well you should know because you are the one telling me its old’
She then called me stupid and hung up 😆

How many times can you suggest that the caller is stupid without him realizing?
I told him to look at reverseaustralia while talking to him. He still did not get the message. Totally stupid! Scam Scam Scam

The usual scam. I told her I would call her back. She gave number as 1800 687 626. Of course, I did not call her. By now you should know how the story goes.

Advised that our area is having problems with copper internet connections and said they will upgrade for free as it was their problem. Then asked for $4 for delivery of the new mode. I was passed to 'her supervisor' and then back to her. I suggested that this sounded like a scam and they insisted that it wasn't. I then ask them to wait while I search then number and they got disconnected. They didn't call back.... sounds not right to me...

Claimed to be from NBN, wanting to give me higher speeds. Said her name was Christine, employee no. 86060. I said i wanted to call her back and she gave me this number. Then became abusive when i looked the number up, and quoted some of the comments i found. She then hung up. Definite scam.
