I received an unsolicited text message from DisGateway about COVID-19 bookings. I have never contacted or heard of DisGateway.
The text message said:
Do you need help booking your COVID-19 vaccine? The Australian Government Disability Gateway is able to assist you. Call 1800 643 787 Monday to Friday, 8am-8pm AEDT. Please disregard this message if you are already vaccinated. Do not reply by SMS

Unsolicited text message from DisGateway about COVID-19 bookings. Not a scam, But a legit Govt organization. (disabilitygateway.gov.au)

I had the exact same unsolicited message, I ignored and deleted it. Never heard of them either

I received another unsolicited text message from DisGateway. If they really are a government department, send me a letter and I might believe them. How do I block them when the text message has no caller information except for DisGateway?
The text message said:
This is a message from the Australian Government. You may now be able to get a COVID-19 vaccine booster. To find out more call the Disability Gateway on 1800 643 787, Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm. Please do not reply to this message.

How did these people get my number, who are they and how do I stop them messaging me. I am very concerned that they have my number and know I am disabled when I have literally no clue who they are or how they got my details.

I also received an unsolicited text message from DisGateway on a few occasions. I’ve already deleted a few and tried to block this number with no success. Here are two of the text messages I’ve received.

I feel as though it is an invasion of privacy and quite forceful, as they don’t give you the option to block them.

As with people above, have just received a text message from this, regarding vaccine 'help'
I have never had any dealings with this group, don't want them using my phone number.

same as all the other comments.. a random number sending me texts about vaccinations.. i never give this number out, so very concerned as to how they got it

Txt messages, same as above complaints & says help for people with disabilities for covid boosters. Why would people need help with 3rd or 4th booster? Never heard of them

Received the same sms as Benjamin, if government related they usually send a letter not sms, and can also contact us via mygov, ignore and delete

Yes, we received the text too. Very stressful, as we have a silent number that is only provided to a few organisations. We ignore this unheard of organisation. Privacy felt invaded though, especially when the Federal Govt could have contacted us through My Gov, etc.
