Person was pretending to be from Telstra, threatening phone need to be updated to NBN. He requested a delivery fee be paid for a new equipment to be sent out for the Technician to connect.

Person claiming to be from NBN. Story was that they were upgrading the phone lines to fibre to the house for FREE and that they were doing it now in my street. They wanted me to do a speed check to see how bad my internet was. This REEKED of a SCAM. While I did run a speed check (they wanted to know the upload, download and ping numbers) but would not give it to them until I got the person's employee number of D850043 and a name of "William" and they gave me this number to call back on. I deliberately DID NOT give them the number but said I would call them back on the number and ask for them.

What a waste of time

Called was from a +64 number but he said was from the NBN because our internet was getting slower and slower. When I asked why they were dialing from an overseas number he stated he was in Melbourne and that the computer had randomly chosen our number. I told him I didn't believe him and I would call him back on an Australian number, he gave me this number to call on.

Similar scenario to previous comments listed above. As soon as "Oliver" gave me this phone number he hung up!
I also asked who he wanted to speak to and the name given was not correct, but it did not stop him when I suggested he had a wrong number.

Also said he was from NBN and were updating cables ( I do not have cables) he wanted to know my speed etc I asked him for his phone number he gave this one 1800 626 687 I said I could not get to my laptop or modem currently so he hung up after giving number I believe it was a scam too

Person claiming to be from Telstra. He said they had noticed a problem with our NBN and out copper wiring needed to be upgraded. We asked for his phone number so we could call him back (as we thought this was a scam). He got angry and a said we needed to book a technician. He reluctantly gave us this phone number 1800 626 687 when we persisted we wanted to call him back. He became quite rude and persistent when we didn't play his game.
