This was the generic message I received. I have also sent this information to PayPal Phishing email address to advise them of this scam.
PayPaI Security Alert: Suspicious Payment Activity on Your Account
Dear Customer,
We are contacting you urgently regarding unusual activity detected on your PayPaI account. A payment of $750.00 AUD was initiated from your wallet to Marcus Bennett, referenced as "Invoice Settlement." The transaction remains pending and has not been finalised.
This payment was attempted from a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, with the login traced to Perth, WA. Neither the device nor the location matches your established account pattern. Additionally, the transaction value is notably higher than your average payment history. Our continuous monitoring flagged these combined anomalies as a potential security concern, prompting us to reach out directly.
If this payment was genuinely initiated by you, please disregard this message. The transaction will continue processing, and your account remains protected.
If you cannot confirm this payment, device, or location, contact our Fraud and Security team without delay at +61 1800 317 195. We operate 24 hours a day, every day of the week. Your reference number for this case is MVR83920PL4.
When you call, our specialists will confirm your identity, immediately suspend the pending payment, and block the unrecognised device from accessing your account again.
Protecting your funds is always our first priority. Verification follows protection.
We appreciate your swift attention to this matter and are here to assist you at any time.

Same as others have written. My elder mum had the same message. She deleted the first one (as I’ve taught her) but she got a second one which made her doubt herself & what she’s learnt. Thank you to the others so I could get my answers quicker to show her she was safe & it was a scam. Hopefully she won’t get a third.
