A message received on my phone stating that I was overdue on my electricity account. Stated my correct account no. Saying, To stay connected, pay online at www.origin.com.au/payment or call 1800 132 462.
Origin Energy uses the words Origin Energy in their website and there is no phone number 1800 132 462 anywhere on their bills. Therefore I think this is a scam message.

I have been receiving text & voice messages for months and months, and for a different name saying I have an overdue account with Origin, and I don't. The messages ask that I return the call on 1800 132 462 also, but can't see this number linked with Origin at all. Just more annoying receiving these messages all the time. Can anything be done to stop them.. I have blocked every number that the messages have come from.

Same as above, I keep receiving text messages and phone calls from Origin with a link an phone number to contact 1800 132 462 threatening to disconnect yet I don't have an Origin Account. Been receiving these for months.

Demanding payment of $16k for overdue bill. I don't have an Origin account!

My phone recorded a call from 1800 132 462 while I was out. I am glad I checked here first and didn't call back. I know I am up to date with my Origin account.

I live in a strata community scheme (i.e. a small apartment building). We received multiple emails through our Body Corporate Management group stating we owned them more than $3,000 and then $15,000 for an unexplained account/connection. The emails even offered a payment plan to avoid disconnection. The account number quoted was different each time and the contact phone number provided for Origin was 1800 132 462, however, I am unable to find that number anywhere on Origin's website.

Received a sms on my phone stating that I had signed up to pay $250 a month on my ORIGIN electricity account. Pay online or phone this number. I didnt and I havent.

Saying i owe them $840 how the f*ck can one person use that much electricity n why the hell is it only every 4 months you get your bill i asked if i could get mine sent earlier they said we can't unfortunately. ... what a load of sh*t i never give my back details to anyone i paid all my bills at the post office they weren't happy when i said that

Received a text message:"You have agreed to pay $895.47 by 6/08/18. You can pay at origin.com.au/pay/p/0000134001335131 or by calling 1800 132 462."
Checked with Origin Energy and there was no record of this amount and my account was up to date. Sure it was a scam.
