Missed a call claiming to be from St George Automotive Finance with this number (and a reference ticket number) provided for callback.

Called St George Automotive Finance on the number listed on the website (https://www.stgeorge.com.au/contact-us - 1300 301 315) and it was confirmed to be from their Remediation team.

(I'd recommend always calling back on a published number and confirming from there; they'll be able to transfer you if it's legitimate. I have also tried to confirm with the normal St George contact number in the past, and was advised that auto finance is entirely separate so the normal call centre doesn't have access to the same information; it's a pretty poor setup if you're trying to verify the caller.)

Called from private number, had my name already and said they were confirming details - I said I didn't feel comfortable as they were calling from a private number so they gave me this number 1800 097 970 to call back and a reference number. When I searched this number on google St George's does come up first, but nothing after that and the number is not seen on the actual st georges link. I called St George's directly and they had no reference number for me on file.

Received text message from St George to call back this number regarding correspondence they had sent to me regarding my novated lease account. Rang St George's published phone number, they confirmed number was definitely legitimate. Have called number and organised a refund owing to me.

1800 097 970 is a genuine number for St. George Remediation for novated lease. To play it safe, call the bank before you call back.

i have never had an account with St George, so there should be no reason to refund me anything. complete spam text and associated email.

Had a call from a private number who I declined. Left a message with this number, I called back and after hesitation realised it was legit. Stated that they work privately for st George. Refunded me for my novated lease interest.
Which I got in my account today. #winning

I had missed call and message from 1800 097 970- turned out to be real ST George and BOM - I was owed a refund of $124. Glad I called back!

Agree totally. And when you call them back they ask you for your bank details so they can give you a "refund". Why not just ask you for your address and send you a cheque. Wouldn't that be more confidential and private?
Banks seem to have no idea sometimes.

Call from Private Number asking for my husband, I told them that he was working and they told me he had to call them back on an urgent matter - 1800 097 970. When I asked why they said that it was a private business matter. When I asked what company was calling him - they said that they could not say for it was private. That is when I laughed and hung up

Not calling back as I have no finance with St George at all, definitely a scam call

Call from unknown caller. Left a message, had my name, and said they were from St George Bank auto finance team. Gave me a reference number too. Called St George and they confirmed it wasn't them. Do not respond.
