Also got "your account has been locked" text. CBA have warning about this scam on internet. Scammer(s) want you to ring 132221 which is CBA's correct number so I'm not sure how that works but provide another number 0431 430 441 which appears to be an overseas inbound call which is the giveaway. Steer clear. I think CBA should flag this scam to all netbank users when they log in and assure customers they never text warnings to customers.

Just got text saying from 61+ 0435 912 787 telling me , mycommbanking was locked ..sent me a link … plus call 13 221 .. SO OVER these SCAMMER texts….

I got an email, actually, with the same message as above person got. It said the same thing - ie: that a transaction had been blocked and I should call 132221. It says it is from the Commonwealth Bank. I DO have a Commonwealth Bank account, so that’s why I came here looking to see if it was a scam. Seeing as all these photos who are NOT in the Commonwealth Bank, received messages to call that same number, then my email must be bulls..t. I greatly appreciate you folks taking the time to post this scam. Thanking you. From Melbourne Australia.

Got text from 0403 071 942 saying "Your account has been disabled" with a link to Commsec and to call 13 22 21. SCAM. Don't have Commonwealth account and only scams are that vague.

Caller: Indian sounding person - 07 211 6579

After a pause, an Indian-sounding guy, who gave a name I can't remember, asked to speak to me by my correct name and said he was from "Visa & Mastercard security dept". He told me that I had had 2 overseas transactions on my VISA card this morning. Told him it was possible and I would check and ring them back. The number he gave was 13 22 21 - Comm Bank - but I don't have credit card accounts with them. He hung up when I said I would not discuss the matter with him over the phone.

I don’t have a commonwealth account so didn’t engage. The number is found on CBA website .. don’t know how to check if the click on “link” is legit?..

Most mobile numbers get recycled at some point so maybe the CBA are closing off unused accounts. Who knows … but be sensible and don’t click on anything suspicious looking

Seems to be legitimate Commonwealth Bank phone number if you Google their contact details.
Go figure!
