Caller: Sure Scam
Got below message two time on 14 February 2019
618941is your Qantas verification code. Unexpected SMS? Call 13 11 31"
Just ignore and delete any communications. It's obviously fishing for info by having yo call this number.
Have received texts from "QANTAS"; 2 yesterday, 30 mins apart, 2 today, 2 mins apart! All the same quoting a "verification" code (all 4 verification codes are different). While I have flown with QANTAS recently, these texts are coming in on my work phone which was not given! Adding to the annoyance, unable to block and as I type this - another one 5 minutes after the last!!! Ignoring is fine, but being bombarded with them..... not cool. Obviously trying to provoke a call! Caller: SCAM SMS
Got this exact message: on 14 Feb 2019
348144 is your Qantas verification code. Unexpected SMS? Call 13 11 31"
I get text messages from Qantas at least 6 times a week giving me a verification code.
The numbers check out as belonging to Qantas but I think it’s some sort of promo.
The SMS says “Unexpected SMS? Call this number”.
Why would the SMS already caveat that it’s ‘unexpected’... cause they know it will be.
When you then call the number it gives you 20 mins of glorified details about their rewards card, and the option to set that up, before you can speak to an operator.
Crafty way to reach an audience for your rewards card, guys!
just got 3 off them of those messages Caller: 131131
Received this message :your Qantas verification code is ------- .Unexpected SMS ? Call 131131 ....reading other people comments , this is definitely a scam...don't ring !!!
It's legitimately from Qantas. I have an old frequent flyer account with them from many many years ago. I searched their number on the website and can confirm it's them.
Usually when you get this kind of text/email and it doesn't ask for personal info or for you to click a link, it's not a scam. Someone is trying to hack into your account.
It's very common now for accounts to send a confirmation code when someone/you want to log in.
I highly suggest calling Qantas directly for help in changing account info, especially if you don't remember that you even have an account with them. They can help you track it down with your mobile phone number. Also ask them what password/email combination was used and never use that again as that information is obviously floating out there and someone knows of it.
must be a scam I had a string of message from this number this morning 7th February 2022. I wasn't sure if it was legitimate or a scam. I called the help number for Qantas from their website and the operator said these messages are legitimate and someone had been trying to access my FF account. I was advised to change my pin and my security questions, which I did. So this text is legitimate. Don't just ignore it. My son received SMS saying a 6-digit "Qantas verification code. Unexpected SMS? Call 131131 or 61(2) 9433 2329 Mon-Sat ..." Have rec’d sms. “999589 is your Qantas verification code. Unexpected SMS? Call 131131 or 61(2)94332329 Mon-Sat 7am-7pm AET.” I presume it’s a scam of some sort. Haven’t been in contact for over 18 months due to C19. I see from other comments I’m not the on,y one to receive this txt. Caller: SMS
I've just recieved 6 in a row
652478 is your Qnatas verification code. Unexpected SMS? Call 13 1131 or 61 (2) 94332329 Mon-Sat 7am-7pm AET.
THIS IS A SCAM, they are sending these messages to my work phone and my Qantas account is not linked to my work details.
Received 3 texts today. Presume it is a scam. Caller: Qantas Frequent Flyer
This is not a scam. Its the CORRECT numbers for the Frequent Flyer program. Someone somewhere has entered the wrong phone number.
I received this text message and am trying to phone Qantas on a separate number. Qantas' Scam assistance contact page doesn't cover it and there are NO contact details on the supposed "contact" page. I've been holding on for 20 minutes so far. Caller: Scam message
832177 is your Qantas verification code. Unexpected SMS? Call 131131 or 61(2) 94332329 Mon-Sat 7am-7pm AET.
We have a landline for internet access only. - So we don't have a phone handset, however our last two bills have phone usage and this number is one of the numbers being called (and all the numbers being called are 13 numbers). Doesn't make sense when we have no phone to make a call with. Telstra are saying the cannot help. Clearly someone has connected to our line to make calls. Caller: Qantas
131131 Sent me a verification code - I phoned them and updated my account as they said maybe someone had hacked - got a bit suspicious that it was a scam, so changed my pin again after the discussion and phoned frequent flyer directly on (02) 9433 2329 - it was legit - they have introduced another level of security on their ff accounts - hence we are all being sent this verification code
Caller: 13 11 31
