SCAM. I was charged $6.99 on my phone bill after I had clicked on a link in fb (to view a video) a message popped up saying I was going to be charged $6.99 per month. Straight away I unsubscribed (even though I did not subscribe in the first place). Will be reporting them to Consumer Affairs.

DEFINITELY DONT CONTACT THEM BACK! THEY WILL CHARGE YOU TO DO SO! CONTACT YIUR PHONR COMPANY INSTEAD, DEMAND A CREDIT, & ASK PHONE COMPANY TO BAN THEM FROM CHARGING YOU VIA "PREMIUM SERVICES". THEN CONTACT FAIR TRADING IN YOUR STATE & EXPLAIN THEY ARE A FRAUD. YOUR CALL!

I received an unsolicited text, it said thanks for subscribing when I did not subscribe and then it gave me the option to unsubscribe. I then discover 30 days later on my Optus Bill $38.99 in charges. I hold Optus responsible as they have given access to my mobile to a Scam Company and enables them to do this by Billing me on their behalf. I called Optus and only after requesting the operators name and ID did they escalate it however I was told I will have to wait 5-7 working days to have a Case Manager call me. Optus would have hundreds if not thousands of complaints about this company scamming but it must be profitable for them to sit on their hands and be party to the scam. They have the means to end what’s happening but choose not to. I am confident in saying the majority this is happening to don’t even know and that gives Optus an extra 40% to charge out monthly on their billing. Whose the criminal ?

Complete Scam. $8.99 each week for something I have never subscribed to, and another $10.00 when you ring up to unsubscribe. Currently calling themselves "Digital Turbine" and previously "MIA Pty Ltd".

Upon checking my phone bills today wondering why they were higher than my package I realise I've been getting scammed $6.30 weekly for MIA Live Sphere "Snack Games" which I certainly never consented to. The total over the past 3 months is about $60. I called Optus and they immediately agreed to refund. Check your phone bills!

This has been coming up on my husbands phone for the last few bills. Blocked the premium sms, sent the stop message - did everything everyone suggested - now they are back. This has been going on for a very long time - how come it hasn't been stopped?

I was on Facebook reading an article and all of a sudden a message came through on my phone saying I had subscribed to a 'SmartWorld subscription' which would be $6.99 p/week! It told me to opt out I needed to SMS 'STOP' which I did straight away, when I went back to Facebook the article had redirected me to another site called SmartWorld. I have absolutely NO IDEA how they got my mobile no. as it's not linked to Facebook nor did I enter it into any form. I thought I'd wait to see if any charges came up on my Optus invoice and lo and behold there was a random charge of $6.59! (Which is odd because it doesn't even add up with what they advised the subscription of $6.99 was in their intial message)! I had 2 charges on my invoice. $6.36 from 'MIA Sphere Pty Ltd' (Helpline 1300 724 406) as well as $0.23 from 'Digital Turbine 10' (Helpline 1800 793 904). I spent about 10 mins reading reviews online from other people saying it's a scam and that if you call either of the Helpline no's they charge you more money. I called Optus straight after, advised them of my concerns and how annoyed I was because I didn't enter my information and that I've read reviews that Optus are in on it. The representative asked me to call and complain to the Helpline no's which I said I didn't feel comfortable doing because I didn't want to incur any further charges. She said she'll contact them and email them and after putting me on hold for a few minutes came back saying that within 45 days the amount would be refunded! D.O.D.G.Y. At least I'm getting my money back. A girl at work said it happened to her husband and because the charge was so little she never complained. Imagine how many people they've scammed money from because it's such a small charge and people think it's not worth the hassle to complain.

We will be going to Telstra, TIO and also possibly Police. The reason why is we bought a pre-paid data plan to use in a Phone as a Data point while we waited for our nbn connection. That Phone was not used for anything other than Data point, one of our Mobiles was used as a reference, when we bought the prepaid sim. Both that Pre-paid phone and the Mobile had text messages sent to them not long after activation, saying that we had subscribed to 3 different places. We unsubscribed immediately. The Pre-aid kept getting messages saying it couldn't charge as it was a pre-paid. Now to understand why we are so angry and that we know this to be a scam, is that the Data point (pre-paid Phone) was not used for anything other than 'A Data Point ' it wasn't used stand alone, It sat in a corner plugged into power Untouched.. We wll be handing this phone over to the TIO and Police if need be for evidence. What we believe has occurred is Telstra has passed on our Information to the 3 third parties when we purchased the pre-paid sim card

My daughter has been getting premium messages sent from her phone for the past 6 months. The only reason that we didn't know what was going on was because i changed my plan first and then she changed hers - we just expected bigger bills. Eventually we cottoned on after the last two big bills. Still trying to get a response from our telephone company. Don't know who it is but since we don't get an itemised bill, it's hard to find out. My nephew gave me the number 1300 724 406 as he works with my phone company and we're going to go to TIO once we get our money back from iinet. Seriously, the calls are happening at exactly 1.16am and the phone company doesn't see anything strange in that?
