They are for real but there phone manner is down right rude....I told them I was busy and she still kept on talking...would not take it that I was busy and needed to get off the phone. I ended up getting frustrated and hung up.

They called my number and wanted to talk with my Son.

I told them he woudl call them back. When he did thye asked him a lot of identifying questions before they would tell him what it was about.

I smells like a scam. But how does one know after you give them all the info they ask for they have your identity and now they can do what ever they like with it.

My advice...HANG UP!!!!

This number is leaving messages at place of employment asking for a call back to discuss 'apparently' employees of the company. Will not advise who they are when they are called back. Definitely a scam.

Just got home today to a letter addressed to my deceased step father that he apparently owed $740.54 to Optus Mobile - he never had a mobile and has been dead for years.
I phoned the number above and asked when the debt was incurred, she said she would only speak to Patrick I said that not possible - I asked when the bill was incurred - she wouldn't say that either. I said that I think this is a scam and hung up.
We've also had a number of phone calls with messages saying we owe tax money - also from a foreign sounding voice. This one I checked with Scam Watch and found to be a fake.

Good for you buddy. Atleast you are one of the smart people still living on this planet not like any idiots in here that don't have any idea about the financial world because they are only living on their small junky town. :)

I came home the other day to a hand written note in my letterbox asking to "Please contact ASAP. Ask for Gene. Ph 1300 659 384 Ref No. #### #### ###"
As I was awaiting the delivery of something I thought it was that so rang up. Gave the reference number and spoke to Gene. She said she was looking for someone who'd given my address as theirs a month after I moved into my home. They apologised and said they'd take my address off their file. Bit worrying that they came to my house, and that some random person gave my address as theirs! They never disclosed who their company was.

If a debt collection company calls you they cannont disclose where they are calling form unless speaking with other people bound by the same NPP (national privacy principles act) such as HR/PAYROLL departments. The reason they ID first before revealing the company name is because imagine how you would feel if a company rang lloking for you and your mum answers and they state "company name " if it was a debt colection company and your mum recognises the name or google's it then, won't you feel embarrased or annoyed or even angry that your personal matter is now not personal and open toy our mums or anoyne elses judgement? TIP if companies ring asking for your details to ID just say if you want to confirm my details then you must have them what year was i born...... then you can proceed to confirm the rest. This will remove the chance for you revealing information to scammers and legit companies being able to ID you

I did a reverse look up on this number, as something weird happened today.
I'd been out the back gardening - I came inside for 15 mins... went back outside, and there was an envelope wedge in the back door (NOT THE FRONT)... addressed to my house. I opened it, and on the back of an expired prescription, there was a hand written note from 'Mr Patrick' to contact 1300 659 384 "urgently", and they quoted a reference number. I called, got an automated system which didn't disclose the business name (hence reverse lookup) and was assured I'd be called back within 2 hours.
Why poke a note in my back door, while I am inside? My front door is more accessible. Handwriting on the back of a prescription??? Please!!! Did he watch me go inside before he came to my back door? The whole thing is odd. I have never heard of Lion Finance. I have no unpaid loans, and my only credit is a Mastercard with a major bank that is sitting at zero balance. I'm not spooked, just confused and mighty pissed off.

LL, unfortunately, they are able to visit your home if you don't answer their calls. Also, they will quite often leave a fake message to get you to call them. We had a note left in our letterbox supposedly from FedEx about a parcel they couldn't deliver. As the note was handwritten on a scrap of paper and not on the proper FedEx message pads, I knew it was fake. However, I was interested in what it was about, so called from a blocked number and found they were looking for the previous tenant by this devious method. I was not impressed and told them so. I thought it very underhanded and as we had never received a letter from them for the previous tenant in the 2 years we had lived there, I thought this was very nasty. Why could they not write a letter to him - they obviously believed he still lived there.

I would suggest if they call at your home again, do open the door to them or let them in. I have been told their "agents" get very nasty and intimidating when they visit you. Some even threaten you. They only care about the money, not anything else.

These people have my address and left a very creepy hand written note in my letter box with a reference number and this phone number. Is this illegal? I cannot believe someone has been outside my house it is just way to intense. I think I will report this to the police. Opinions?
