Scammer messaged me on WhatsApp re: an item on Gumtree. Sent me this PayID link to connect my Westpac account to his Gumtree account so he could pay me. But the link was titled WestPac. Reported to both Westpac, Gumtree, WhatsApp and Scamwatch

6 messages received from December 2020 onwards, of amounts ranging from $220 to $5194.00 and all to different bank Australian bank accounts.
I don't have a Westpac account.

I got a text message saying it was from Westpac and asking me to call this number.

Was not making any deposit this is a scam!

I just found this in my SMS history, I don't remember receiving this text and have no idea what it's about

"Do not share this code. Enter SMS Code: 715129 to access your contact details. Unexpected message? Call 1300 655 505."

Definitely SCAM. I got sms code to confirm I had transferred payment of $30,000.........Knew that was BS straight away. Phone no 0448 222 001 - & asking me to call 1300 655 505...........Beware!

I received a text message as follows “To access your tax details please enter SMS Code 337453. Unexpected message? Call 1300 655 505” sus as! This is the westpac number. If I had tax issues I’d call the ATO.

Got an email purporting to be westpac. They gave this number as their contact us number. When you look at their email, it is very strange. It is "onlinebanking @ email8.westpac.com.au". The term email8 is very odd and I believe it shows these people are scammers.
