I received an email with an obscure reference to a change of authorisation, inviting me to click here which would lead to a web address definitely not NAB and inviting me to phone this number.
It looks like a scam to me. Does anyone else know for sure?

Logged onto NAB internet banking and entered my number and password and these words appeared: YOUR INTERNET BANKING ACCESS IS CURRENTLY DENIED PLEASE CALL 1300 651 656 FOR FURTHER INFORMATION. Only when I Googled this number first, was I alerted to the SCAM. All the banks in my area have closed, so I have to travel miles to my nearest NAB. The whole world has gone nuts.

1300 651 656 is the internet banking team at nab. unfortunately while the number is legitimate, there are plenty of scams around that try to take advantage of the number to legitimize themselves.

I got a text asking me to call nab on that number, which is verified by their website. if you get a text with a link to a www site. you have a scam

My elderly parents just received a call from someone (Indian accent) saying they were from the bank and wanted them to confirm that they were transferring $700 (approx) from their account. When mum told them no they were not doing that he asked that she confirm the account details etc etc. Luckily I have had numerous conversations with my parents about scam phone calls and she refused to do this. She did ask that he give her a number she could call him back on and he provided 1300 651 656 and then hung up.
She was extremely concerned and called me to let me know and also ask if she did the right thing. I confirmed with her that this is a scam and that she did do the right thing.
Karma needs to come back big time on these bastards......................................

I received a text message saying my account had been blocked as a potential issue and asked to call 1300 651 656. I called the number on NAB website (03) 8641 9083 but i was hung up after i was told that my my info did not matched those in the database. when i attempt to create account using my NAB id, i was prompted that this id does not exist.???? OMG, NAB just stole all my money!!!

I had a similar call on my landline.I was asked for my mobile number which I gave them so that they could send me a code.The best part is that I received a code and was asked what the code was.I told him that I could not give him the because the message said not to give the code to anybody not even any one from the bank.They didn`t think this scam out very well as most of the info the bank would have had.

I just finished on Chat with a NAB rep online. Completely legit through my banking portal. When i disconnected from Chat approximately 10 minutes later I received a text message saying my account had been blocked as a potential issue has been identified and to call 1300 651 656. I did not call this number but the number on NAB website inside my banking app.

Wow! This looked legit! Received text stating my daily limit has been changed and to phone the 1300 651 656 if not authorised.
The message used EXACTLY same language NAB does (including "NAB will never request personal info" etc). I almost hit the button but instinct told me not to. Instead I phoned the bank direct. Definitely a scam. If in doubt, never call the number given in a text (as in hit link, as it will redirect you to a scammer).

Again with the licensed criminals trying to steal from me after obtaining my number without consent or authority.
Until Privacy Laws are changed by the Gestapo, to actually provide Privacy rather than profits - not much will change.

Caller: It was a Scam

Received a call from a guy saying he was from NAB advising a strange amount of money was going to be debit from my account ($800), Wanted me to download a few apps including a TeamViewer QuickSupport app on my phone to help me. Then wanted me to transfer said amount back to a bank of Melbourne account so it could be get his refunded back. When i questioned him about it he get really aggregated. I asked him his name and told him i would call the fraud team myself. So call the fraud team on 1300 651 656 and was advised this was a fraud and i was luck to stop it before i was out of pocket $800. NAB will ways send you a text with a security number and never ask you to download extra apps.

Received a mobile text message from this number claiming to be from NAB, re my internet banking access bring temporarily locked. While I have a NAB account I have never used internet banking. They gave an internet address to restore accrss, which I ignored

Just got call, my daughter took it as I am not home, sadly a person with an Indian accent asked if I had authorised $800 to be withdrawn in the USA from my account. First fail - what bank employee would talk to a person who is not the account holder? They keep re-calling to check if she has spoken to me, so now she is just not picking up (basically she is ina siege situation). No suspicious activity in my account... SCAM SCAM SCAM. I usually call the wrath of Kali (a very vengeful Indian Goddess) to be visited upon their heads for what they are doing to the old and the innocent !!!! I have had quite a few startled callers and instant disonnection...

Said there was an attempted transfer 0f some $800 to USA on my credit card. They wanted to lock my whole account and re-issue credit card etc. They asked my bank ID number to lock payment and accounts. I asked which branch my account was with but they could not answer. I requested some means of ID which they promised to text/email after I gave them the ID Number. I gave them nothing

I was phoned by a gentlemanon (03) 4553 7294 and was told that he was a banking officer fro the NAB and that someone was trying to take $800 money out of my NAB account which is interesting as I dont have a NAB account !!
I asked to speak to his superior and he handed me to a Mr Kevin Watson, a gentleman of Indian extraction I would suggest who spun me a story about someone in the states wanting to take $800 out of my account. I asked him where he was located and he provided the above address and when I asked him what level he was working from he laughed and hung up........ f*cktards both of them!!

Yes it is a scam. I received email supposedly from NAB to confirm first time tranfers to account ending in 9923. with this ph. no. & also 1300 6741 656 (only the "4" is different)
The confirm or deny links both go to same web address kinetixdance.com/wp etc. etc.
Do Not click on links ( I only hovered on them to read them )
I have never had a NAB account
