Same as the post above, called the bank's standard phone number and they confirmed the SMS was legitimate.

It was supposed to be my bank telling me my credit card had been compromised

Got a text from this number saying it was from Bankwest, quoting the correct last 4 numbers of my Bankwest credit card, and stating that the card had been compromised. The message went on to say that the bank had blocked my card, and they would issue a new card by 07.00HRS the following morning. The add "for queries" ring 1300 550 914. Clicking on 1300 550 914 connects you to scammers and they will rip you off. A quick Google search of 1300 550 914 shows it is not the Bankwest Customer service number, and Bankwest are warning of this type of regular scam.

do not listen to the above people saying its a scam, they are wrong and are too lazy to look into, got the text from the above number. rang bankwest ON THEIR STANDARD BANKING NUMBER from their website and they confirmed the message is legit and they said yes it is not listed on their website as its just their fraud prtection service and not needed by customers as they need to ring customer service first.

It's definitely from Bankwest. I had the same message that my card had been compromised. I received a new card six days later.

Caller: BankWest This was legit. I didn't use the number on the text just to be on the safe side but rang Bankwest on the usual number. My Credit Card had been compromised.

It's not a scam, i called the usual Bankwest number to confirm if the number in the text message was legitimate and was told it was, and that my card had definitely been compromised.

Scammers send out SMS saying your Bankwest credit card has been compromised. The message says "For queries ring 1300 550 914". 1300 550 914 is not the Bankwest customer service number.
