Letter received with a dodgy allianz logo re: notice of intention to sue. Demanding payment of money into a bank account. I did not use thiis number but called allianz using the number direct from their website. Allianz said there is a claim relating to the number i quoted from the letter. But i was not in the state on date the accident claimed to have happened. This along with photocopied log, poorly positioned, suspect language in the letter, in correct spelling of my name and the demand for money now, with a threat of legal action indicated to me that this is a scam. I did not call this number

It actually isn't a scam. I confirmed with Alliance and this is one of their outbound phone numbers.

DEFINITELY A SCAM. We received an SMS today demanding payment of roughly $3000 for an Allianz claim. We had recently had an Allianz claim so it nearly caught us out. Also included a legitimate Allianz claim number (not ours). We called the Allianz call centre with the number direct from their website, and they confirmed this was a scam.
