Caller: Dangerous

Said they were from SPER Qld. Asked me to verify my details, name DOB address. I said I'm not going to do that. They sent a text with the be number to contact them. Which is what the caller politely had told me she would do.
However having previously lived in Qld I was well acquainted with SPER 😉 and the 1300 number is not SPER.
Today I also had old mate "James from the Wine Company" and "NAB Fraud" I'm being hit hard from these scammers. It seems impossible to stay in front. I've had 3 years of it and I've learned the hard way, I'm wiser now and same scams are repeating. I sincerely feel for the first timers out there. T

Name, you have a SPER debt that won't go away. Please call 1300 185 619 or log into SPER online to pay your debt today, or we can take it directly from your bank account or request it directly from your employer. SPER Party ID: 98856818.

This is a scam.

Caller: 0480 016 540

I got the following txt msg "My Name", SPER is about to suspend your driver license. To pay or set up a payment plan, please call us on 1300 185 619 or log into SPER online. Don't lose your license! SPER Party ID: 12345678.

I wasn’t called but the number is what came up when I tried setting up a payment plan on the sper site that I was directed to after I clicked the link in the official and secure gov site of the revenue office..

Had an SMS from 1300 185 619 with a message which contained my first name + ",you have a SPER debt that we want to help you get on top of. Go to qld.gov.au/sper or call 1300 185 619. SPER ID" and then ended in a 8 digit number for the SPER ID.

Checked the SPER URL on my PC instead of using link on the phone - website came up valid however the number on the SPER website is listed as 1300 365 635. Clearly a scam call.

Received today (17/04/2024) the same from someone just above received last year. So number is still operational

THIS IS LEGIT. I received a text message from SPER saying my licence was about to be suspended. I had a traffic fine from December 2023 I had no idea about!

I got the same, logged in to SPER using that ID and it was a legit fine 😢

Got a text from 0480 016 540, informing me SPER were going to suspend my license and to call 1300 185 619 or log into SPER. I did not click on any links or ring the number, I went straight to the sper . qld . gov . au website and checked there. I did have outstanding logan city council fines that I had no idea about and they were going to suspend my license. If you are worried about this number, Google the number, it is 1300 365 635 for general inquiries, the number in the text is most likely for late debts.

Call and sms from 0480 016 540, stated it was Sper with text message and voicemail left, referred to me by Christian name in message and SMS , seems suss, the above messages confirms ro me that it is a Bullsh*t scam
