PLEASE READ THIS!!
I received the same letter wanting $160 for a fine I thought did not relate to me.......
But it turns out it was genuine, as I own an investment property in the City of City of Sydney where they made it COMPULSORY to vote in late 2021 if you pay rates in the City of Sydney....and if you didn’t know that (like I didn’t) and therefore didn’t vote...you will have been fined….and the City of Sydney have found you by cross referencing your details with Transport NSW.
They apparently ‘froze’ my driving licence until I cleared my voting status….so please take this seriously…..its not a scam, but it is very dodgy behaviour by the City of Sydney.
So, in a nutshell, if you pay rates in the City of Sydney, you will need to actively keep across when the local elections take place and either vote or let them know you cannot vote for whatever reason.

I got a letter with this number and was fairly suspicious about it. I went to the revenue NSW official page, called their contact number for overdue payments and it turns out it was a legit letter. Confirmed the reference number with the phone rep was active, turns out you can't track it from the "Overdue fines" page but instead the "My enforcement" page....... really odd and confusing but there you go. In my case it was a fine for not voting in some local election back in 2021 and they sent the letters to a wrong address because the NSW Gov doesn't update addresses for all their services (such as voting info) when you update your address for transport NSW.

This is the same information I received - called them and it looks like failure to vote on local government elections - (City of Sydney) - where i've had an investment for a long time but haven't lived in Sydney for more than 20 years.... Very sneaky - i'm not paying it.

I was sent an 'overdue fine' in the mail (to my parents house in NSW) with my full name. The bill was $467 from Services NSW with the only option to pay via AusPost. I googled the number which is the one listed here. I then called it to see how 'legit' this was. The auto options are exactly the same as the real Revenue NSW phone number. A very elaborate and targeted scam. This thing could easily catch out someone less aware.

Received a letter "Notice of Restriction of Business for Non-Payment of Fines" which appears to be an elaborate scam. It has this phone number as the contact for all enquiries. It asks for $1,755.00 to be paid via Australia Post. Interestingly, I have no driver's licence or vehicle registered in my name and yet the letter seems to provide a driver's licence number - nice try scammers!
